using Mastercard debit card in Nigeria

has anyone been successful at using their Mastercard ATM/Debit card in Nigeria? I've been able to use my Visa debit/atm card with no problems but I can't seem to find a machine that accepts the mastercard debit card even if the machine says its a mastercard machine. I've called my bank to make sure there wasn't a problem with my card and they said no, that the machines aren't even accessing the network. Maybe it's because I'm in a rural area? I'm hoping that my luck will be better when I travel to Lagos on Wednesday.

Hi,

I believe your present location has something to do with. You can also try to locate any branch of GTBANK or Zenith bank if available in your location.

I have already contacted my bank and let them know that I was in Nigeria, etc. I've also tried all the local banks, First Bank, Diamond Bank, Access bank, GT bank and Zenith, not to mention countless others. Like I said, I haven't had a problem using my visa atm card, but can't get my mastercard atm card to work. :( I hope I have better luck tomorrow. Thanks everyone.

Well i had to use specific ATM's that dealt with foreign banks. All those banks all over Port Harcourt and goodness. Had no issues with mastercard or Visa but than I was right in the airport using ATM. You'll find one good luck.
