Me and my Thai wife are just about to begin the DCF CR1 visa process in Bangkok.

To start, we got the I-130 form, along with some other documents and are preparing to hand them in..

The first thing I want to know is..

-Do I need to make an appointment to bring my packet of documents to the consulate in Bangkok? or can I just walk up and drop it off?

If its not DCF, i know you need to mail the documents to the drop box office..

But were trying to do the DCF. I prefer to just go there and drop it off, rather then mailing it.

Please let me know..

Also does anyone know anything about all the translated documents my wife needs to get done?

She read that she needs to get her Thai ID card translated to English.. kind of weird to me..

Also, after a document is translated to English, We have to legalize it? At the "Legalization Division of Consular Affairs Department"?

Do they need the original document to legalize the translation? I assume yes.

Should we wait until after they approve or deny the I-130, to translate and legalize any documents?

Do we have to translate any other documents besides the marriage certificate, for when we hand in the I-130?

There shouldent really be any other documents in Thai to translate though.. I did not read anywhere that I need to hand in a copy of my wifes id or anything when I hand this in..

Below is my list of documents to start the visa process..

Table of Contents

1. Form I-130: Petition for Alien Relative

2. Copy of US Birth Certificate

3. Copy of Passport (US Passport)

4. Copy of Marriage Certificate

5. Marriage Certificate Translated to English

6. G-325A for US Citizen

7. G-325A for Non-US Citizen (Spouse)

8. 1 passport-type photo of Non-US Citizen spouse

9. Evidence of a bona fide marriage

10. Form G-1145: E-Notification

Take them to the consulate. It is located in the high rise across the street from the embassy.

See the accepted translation format I copied. Her Thai I D doesnt need to be translated. The " certification" is simply the statement you see here.

Certification by Translator

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.

Signature_________________________________

Date Typed Name

Address

The 130 wont be denied. Move forward with the case requirements.
