I have a wife and 4 kids (18 , 16 , 12 , and 7 years old)over seas that I am trying to bring to the us

I already filed the I-130 petitions paid the fees and get the approval for all the thing is my income for 2011 is at 24 thousand dollar and even less for last year and the year before my question is can I just do the I-864 (affidavit of support) for the 18 year old only

You mean, only bring the 18 year old over now and the wife and younger kids later? Yes, you can do that.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Unfortunately, you do not make enough to be the sole I-864 sponsor for your 18 year old son.

Look at the I-864 - Section 5 Sponsor's household size. You will have to count your wife and dependent children in your household size.

Even if you file only for your 18 years old son, you would need to make enough for a household of six (you, your wife, your 3 minor children, and the 18 years old intending immigrant). You would need to make $36,487 to meet the I-864 requirement to be the sole I-864 sponsor.
