Hey guys,

Do you think if anyone get 221g for doc, then thats mean that he is under AP? I think, AP is different thing since it cant be expedite. If US Consulate needs the doc for particular case, then that doesnt mean that his case is under AP. Isn't it?

What you think? Just want to get your views.

Not necessarily.. you need to submit the documents they requested then they will review them taking a few weeks adn then they will either issue the visa or do more checks which is AP... you will know about a month after submitting the documents if your in AP or just being requested to send the documents.

Some people get the visa within a month or so clearing the document request and others submit then find out they are in AP... hard to say until they accept the documents.

Higher chance of AP from a MENA country... Good luck!

Well my husband had his interview on Jan. 31st and received a green 221g (the colors vary per embassy) that requested our original marriage certificate. The officer told him to send our marriage certificate with his passport and that was it. So we did so hoping that we would be receiving the visa soon, but a week later they told us we were in AP and it could take a couple of months. We received all of our documents back including his passport (with no visa) and a different green paper explaining AP and how to check our status on the website. I am not in Turkey to see it but I am assuming its an OF-194 (don't know if they give those at all embassys). Also, our case was expedited due to my pregnancy, I am due in May. We were supposed to have an April 10th interview date but we got it moved up to January 31st. Just hoping all will be finished and that he will be able to come here before the baby is born.

Yes evelyn, I am interested to see what happens with your case. I was really upset when we didn't get an instant approval, but I am now over it and we are back to being patient. Hopefully this will finish quickly for both of us :)
