Sounds good but if have a profesional career that I want to keep working on , I dont want them to think Im lying putting "housewife", I know that I'll have housewife chores to do, and Im happy to do it, but is NOT what Im or what Im inttending to do. (Nothing against housewives btw)

would they think that I can become in a public charge if I put housewife instead of psychologist?

When you're not sure, just put "To Be Determined". Really, it works every time it's tried. This is not a public charge related question.

You can put "psychologist", if that is your intention. By 'special permission' I believe you mean, there is a certification required to work as a psychologist. You can state that you will obtain certification to continue your professional career as a psychologist.

And they will not think you can/will become 'public charge' if you put housewife because your husband signed Affidavit of support for you, promising he will take care of you. :)

  • 1 month later...

My wife put "housewife" once and "unknown" once. The "unknown" was the first time (Jakarta) and she told the IO she didnt have a clue what it was like in the US and had no idea what she wanted to do but perhaps she would go to school. The second time (Riyadh) she told the IO our daughter was two and she was staying at home with her.

"Others accompanying you" section was always "none" even though our second time my wife, our daughter, and I entered the US together. We assumed that the question was related to other non-USC immigrants, not USC family members. This appears to have been, based on outcome analysis, a correct assumption

Under "children" we listed our daughter and noted in parenthesis (USC) which effectively removed her from the jurisdiction/interest of the IV unit at the embassy

i don't get it.

In my wife's case I was thinking to write for her. "I have to learn English first, and than look for a job" Since my wife does not speak English. What you think friends?

Finally we all three together. We are happy :)

I think just enter "To Be Determined". Really. This is not a public charge question. When you don't know YET, then it is "To Be Determined". You betcha. Don't complicate things by making negative statements about language ability.
