*sigh* today is the official 5 month mark for me.

Sabi, I totally hear you. It does suck seeing people at the other service centre with MUCH later NOA1 dates being approved before me... regardless of they get stuck going to NVC or not. If someone from late March/early April at CSC already has their NOA2, and even if they wait around a month for their case to be sent - it will likely still be a much faster processing time than mine at this point (and especially faster than Sabi's, and all the rest of the January filers!)

I move next week and really wanted this approval before then so I don't have to change my addy with USCIS, cause we ALL know that's going to be a s@*# show. My roommate is staying until August 15th so I guess I can leave it until then, but then ALL my mail is stuck in Queens, which means I have to come all the way to Astoria and THEN go home all the way to Brooklyn.

Stupid UCSIS sad.gif

I want my $340 back. devil.gif

No, I wouldn't switch with them. I am content with either center as the time are pretty much dead even now. Everyone has their own opinion, we will just have to wait and see. Don't want anyone to get discourage or think I come here just to put people down. Just wanted to see what I thought was happening as everyone tends to think Process time has changed for VSC. To me, it never changed, still there with the NVC lingering CSC Approvals behind 20 plus days. But yes for me generally, I would like my NVC process within a weeks time like VSC petitioners history, so I have no feeling or thinking its stuck in AP Mode.

However GL with your process Sabi, you are getting closer to that NoA2.

My opinion is based on the fact that Vermont processed their petition 3-4, max 5 months up till May and right now it is 5-6 months +

Thanks, I certainly hope so!

It is not really that much about other center at this stage as much as our own... I am upset with all those approvals of people who filed after us or being approved within a month which happens at Vermont as well... it is too unfair to describe how one feels seeing it... USCIS has done everything so far to turn the engagement period , which should be one of the nicest moments in our lives into a hell!Right now I just hope we will all be approved before we all hit 6 months as it seems for some of us it might be even longer...

Yes. and the worst is when we call and they tell us that they're working on January 9th. haha. They've been working on January 9th for a month. How many petitions were received that day???? It's just a system designed to drive us crazy..Really just want to get approval before or at least around 180 days now...Please God don't let it go into the 200s..I think by mid week I'll get my Congressman involved at a much deeper level (have him actually call). Usually at 6 months they can exert a little more pressure...Still hard to believe many January filers are sitting here in mid July hoping for an approval...On average VSC is worse right now than when CSC was at its slowest earlier in the year...whatever meltdown they had over there to create such a backlog must have been relatively substantial. 2.5 months just to process a single month's worth of petitions? that's a serious issue.

I seriously hate this process. It's horrible that there are so many people waiting this long without even a view on their file. And it's even worse that people further back in line are reviewed before the people who have been waiting the longest. This process needs a review of it's own.

I am one of the lucky ones who was adjudicated on Friday, but I'm super depressed that I got an RFE. I am kicking myself for not discovering VJ until 2 months after filing with a lawyer. I paid a lot of money for an allegedly experienced person to file everything correctly, and somewhere along the line something got screwed up. When I called the lawyer (I actually spoke to the legal assistant), I asked if there was something we maybe missed. Without even taking a second look at our file at the time of the call, she said it's possible that I didn't submit enough evidence. Anything is possible- although with the amount of evidence we supplied, I doubt it. But even if that were the case, shouldn't she as a legal professional tell us that what we gave isn't enough? I then asked if we could get all of our paperwork back from the initial filing because we want to do the rest of the process on our own and she told me should couldn't do that and I'd have to speak to the lawyer to get that approved. This is really just the cherry on the ####### sundae.

I'm just hopeful that this RFE doesn't delay us forever. I've read a few of the horror stories on this site, and I've pretty much avoided VJ all weekend as a result.

Fingers crossed for all of you guys to have big smiles on your faces this week. I really hope this process moves on for you, especially the ones who have waited the longest!

U guys are all feeling what I am feeling right now, it is a torture, and it is so unfair to see other people who filed in Mar,April got their NOA 2 faster than i did. We should all pray together, and stay strong, positive, let's face it, the day will come, and we will be with the ones we love.

NOA 1 2/29/12

well we see things from different perspective, you having your NOA2 in your pocket and being what? a month, maybe 2 max from getting your case number and me being X months away from it :) you see the difference? I do!I am not trying to prove anything here, just saying that people will always find sth to complain about not seeing that they are actually pretty lucky with what they have ;) I am not talking about you, just in general... I am sure there is tens or hundreds of us here seeing people complaining about how NVC is slow ad thinking to themselves that they would actually happily switch with them

And just to be clear, I am really discouraged seeing other people from my service center being approved before me, even though they filed days/weeks or months after me...

I totally agree with you, I don't even know now do i need a RFE, is it gonna be another month

Hi Guys! Today is 5 Months officially for me!  :wow:

If the processing time on the USCIS website were correct I would be jumping for joy but reality is im looking at another month or so of waiting. Im trying to be realistic when I say hopefully my fiancee can be here by september, I know Brazil is pretty good on scheduling interviews ASAP, especially with this slowdown at the service centers im sure all the embassies in the world have had time to catch up themselves and should be moving faster now.

Lets Get some of those good positive vibes going today and carry them throughout the week!!!

I couldn't resist it so I called USCIS this morning after 5 months and 3 days. I was expecting worse but the lady was really kind and she told me they are still working on January petitions and she can't put a service request for me before another 30 days. I just wish VSC would just go ahead and update their processing times to a more accurate timeframe. Anyway it's a new week indeed. So hopefully it will be full of actions and many petitions will be approved mostly from January so they can reach our petitions. Good luck everybody :)

Its deff not for everyone, the emotional and physical stress can bring anyone to their knees. Patience is the biggest test I have had on this journey. We are deff going to get a FEB approval this week.

I think the misconception about the processing time is that everyone thinks 5 months is when you reach the 5 month mark. I contacted my senator to request assistance in expediting my application thinking my 5 month processing window was reached, but USCIS considers 5 month processing to include a full 5 months. If you filed February 1st, then 5 months is reached on July 1st but they consider that 5 month window to be completed before heading into your 6 month. Technically the 5 month window would be before August 1st and not by July 1st.
