It may be hard, but might I suggest people take a step back and breathe? Don't obsess over the USCIS site and Igor's list. Things will happen when they happen and nothing you do will change that. If there's a delay of a month, then a small blip on the radar of your life together. You will survive. It hurts, I know it does. Obsessing makes it hurt more. We all have energy to expend...only you can choose to be positive and creative with this energy or be negative with it. I'd much rather do something constructive and positive with my life than sit around worrying about something I have no control over.

------------------------------

This is encouraging, I would love to stay more positive, because I have checked USCIS more than 10 times a day, all my life was around it, and I lost my happiness. However, We need to be more patient and wait for amazing to happen

Hey guys!

I've been reading this forum for a couple of days now...it's been SUCH an encouragement to hear how other people are doing who are going through the same thing.

Let me introduce myself...

My name is Ashley, I'm 24 years old, and I just moved back from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I taught at an international school for two years where I met my fiance, Pedro, who was also a teacher at the school! When he gets his visa (fingers crossed!), he will be joining me in Baltimore. Just like all of you, the end of this process CAN'T come soon enough!!!

Our NOA1 was received and sent to Vermont on February 16, 2012. I noticed that there are several others who are Feb. 16 ---woot woot!

I love how everyone is full of optimism and hope...let's keep it up and support each other :)

It is to funny how three of us on here sponsoring are loved ones from Brazil all have feb 16... it is truly a small world

I agree with this, but sometimes it's easier said than done. When I'm busy with things in my life, it's easy to ignore this process, but there's always that downtime that makes the thoughts creep in. I will say that I don't put too much stock in Igor's list. VJ is seriously such a small population of all the applications that go to the service centers. Igor's list is just a nice feature to the site, but it's not an accurate portrayal of the volume of applications that realistically still need to be approved. I'd like to think of myself as more of a VJ junkie, mostly because I enjoy reading what people have to say. Plus, as long as we're not arguing, it's nice to wait with you friendly folks :)

Congrats!!!

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

HELPFUL ADVICE -

Scan your documents. I made a big huge package of all the documents I had (including the NOA2 letter) and I shipped them off to my fiancee about 2-3 weeks ago so she would have them for the embassy (without scanning them first). That was a huge mistake by me.

Now I am getting delayed with the NVC and they are going to ask me for a scanned copy of the NOA2. Ugh.

Anyways, it's just so much easier to have the documents scanned on your computer so you can access them at any time and email them to anyone who needs them. I should have thought of this before I sent everything over to Europe :(

Scott, GREAT ADVICE, thanks for bringing it up. I did scan all mine in just in case. I actually keep it on a little pink thumb drive that I keep with me in case I need it. I sent my certified copies to Julian though, already in anticipation of him possibly needing them for the interview, so I hope to God I don't get an RFE for one of those. Isn't it funny how you catch these things and think, "What a dummy, why didn't I just wait!" LOL

Good luck! star_smile.gif

Congrats on your approval, Sunny_Richie! :)

As for the waiting process... I agree that it's best to just keep as busy as possible and try to take your mind off it. I've been throwing myself full force into planning and organizing for the wedding and all the wedding events (my parents are throwing us a jack and jill bowling party in September here in Canada, and Tom, his dad, and our bridesmaid are all coming up from FL... I'm so excited!)

I have to say though, our five month mark is coming up at the end of this week, and it does have me kinda bummed out.

Is anyone considering getting a congressman involved soon, or are you all holding out a little longer?

I'm gonna hold out. Looking at the January thread, it looks like the congress people haven't been able to help much with them, so I doubt we'll be a priority yet.

So, here's a question for everyone: when your honey is finally in the US and you get married, are you planning a honeymoon? If so, where?
