I've got my tax transcripts ready, am working on getting phone records from the company (I don't use anymore) that requires a notarized letter to send them, and can get a letter from my employer in probably a day so I'm not too worried about that. Other than that I think I'll need paystubs (can print anytime) and maybe my last year's tax return/W-2s? I even made a list yesterday of everything that I will need to put in the binder for Aaron to bring to his interview.

Aaron, on the other hand, is still trying to get time to take care of getting a replacement birth certificate (issued by the national rather than regional authorities, which the other Ugandan K-1 I know said is necessary) and his police certificate. As long as we haven't reached NOA2 yet and aren't in any danger of doing so soon, it's actually good that he hasn't gone yet because fresher is better, but sometime in the next week or two would be ideal.

And wedding plans? HA. I've kind of shelved all of that for the moment in my attempt to be less bitter and impatient about the indefinite nature of all of this waiting.

Same thing here :( we haven't seen each other since January 9th :crying: . I am planning on travelling there and seeing her at the end of the summer, THAT IS more than 8 months :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Rob and I haven't seen each other than January 3rd, and we've both made a sad pact to save money and wait until he's here for real. We used to see each other every 3-4 months, so this stretch has been tremendously hard.

I ordered my tax transcripts several weeks ago but nothing ever came. I guess I should call the IRS and see what the hold up is. Maybe they process things like the USCIS  Rob ordered his police certificate and is going to get a few boosters so he doesn't have to do all the vaccinations during his medical. I think we're in good shape, but of course there's that whole pesky NOA2 thing we're missing.

And yeah, wedding plans have stalled until I know when Rob is getting here. I have my dress and my bridesmaids have mostly picked out their dresses, but other things are up in the air. Admittedly, I hired a lawyer at the start before I found VJ, and the lawyer told me the whole process would be over in 3-5 months (HA!), so I'd planned a wedding for October, all things that VJ members would tell you NOT to do. So, I had put deposits on a few things and will bite the bullet if I have to move them. I don't like it, but it's better than showing up to my wedding without a groom.

Would you believe I sent Julian all the stuff for the interview already? I dated the employer letter 6/15, sent 3 yrs transcripts, did NOT send bank statements (is that really necessary, I make plenty over poverty level), signed I-134, extra evidence, signed letter dated 6/15 etc. I hope I didn't jump the gun, but they seem to just want it closer to the interview and frankly it's not my fault London is going to take 3 months to assign one. He has everything he needs on his end including his shots, police certificate... we're just waiting on the NOA2. Surprise Surprise.star_smile.gif

So I think we're all good. Are any of you US/UK sending bank statements?

I'm not planning on sending any US bank statements. I'm saving some paychecks and assuming I get the IRS stuff, I think that will be plenty. On the UK threads, it sounds like that is more than enough.

Yeah it was funny. I sent him all this stuff all the UK threads said we don't even need, just in case. Like the extra relationship stuff and the 3 yrs back in transcripts. I told him we'd pow-wow on the phone and I'd explain to him what he needed to have handy and what needs to just live in his bag...just in case.

It's like all that stuff is some security blanket or something. rofl.gif

But you know if you don't, that one interviewer will be like...by the way....do you have 2010 transcript?

I'm just looking forward to hearing stories about the very soft-spoken woman at the counter. It seems like everyone from the UK on VJ has encountered her at the consulate.

Have my IRS transcript and letter from employer ready to go. Just need to fill out i-134, redo letter of intent, get the NOA2 and send it on its way! He's got his medical records, birth certificate and just waiting on his police certificate - the UK one is good for a year so we should be covered.

Wedding plans? Nada... We've picked out rings and know we want something really small and simple - no white dress and tux. If we had it our way, we'd just hit Vegas but my kiddos might object... Hopefully something at my sis's house the week of Thanksgiving. My first wedding, I spent 15 months planning every detail of that one day - this time I'm putting all my focus on what comes after the ceremony instead. That's more important in the long run (easy to say as I've already donned the big white dress and danced to a cheesy DJ :P )

How are your plans coming along?

I feel like I'm at a bit of a stand still when it comes to wedding plans. I can picture the entire thing in my head, but I haven't gone ahead with anything, because of that dang NOA2! LOL. We saw the venue that we want last time I was down in FL, and we'll book when we get the NOA2 (they've said they can bump the date forward within the calendar year if it doesn't come through in time). It'll be both our first wedding, so we're going for the whole white dress and tux, but trying not to go too far overboard. I want a lot of handmade/crafty things (because I craft a lot!) and just a laidback vibe to celebrate our love :)

Yeah, I can picture mine, too. I want it to be a nice hybrid American/Ugandan wedding and really comfortable and informal and I want to invite everyone we like. We were talking about it a little online today. He says he wouldn't mind inviting the whole world. It's going to be in a beautiful church with a charming hall behind it for the reception, and there will be lots of different ethnic food in a buffet (with some chili or something for my dad, who thinks egg rolls are overly adventurous) and Ugandan dancing and lots of children and merriment and maybe a little chaos. Oh, and board games and singing, too.

Good morning all!!

Exciting news!! We just got our NOA2!!!!!!! It came in at 06:30AM, but I'm in Botswana. NOA1 was February 7 @ CSC (received Feb 3). Keeping the February filers' NOA2s coming!

***I did put a service request in earlier this week--My current address is foreign (Botswana) and I wanted to change it to my permanent US address for when the NOA2 arrived. It's not possible to change a foreign address to US on the online system. I called the 1-800 number a few weeks ago and USCIS told me I had to send in a letter via post (how 18th century!). So I did that and also scanned a copy to that CSC follow-up email, but got no confirmation of receipt and my address wasn't updated online. I called the USCIS 1-800 number again this Tuesday because I am leaving my current address on Friday and requested a service request because I was afraid we would receive our NOA2 to this address. The guy on the phone was very helpful, gave me a confirmation code and all. I'm not sure if this expedited our case, especially since I've heard that it takes 15 days for service requests to go through.****

a big THANK YOU to the VJ community. I don't post often, but I promise I read what you write everyday and it has helped a lot. I wish you all the best of luck in receiving your NOAs soon!!
