YAY! I just booked my flight to go see Tom!! <3

My brother-in-law works for an airline and was able to get me a $200 (tax included) round trip, and since my next job won't start for at least another two weeks, I thought I'd hop on a plane and go visit him! Hopefully I won't have any trouble crossing the border, since this is the first time I'm going to do it without a letter from my boss stating when I'll return back to work... but I will have my return ticket, plus all my home ownership docs, and the copies of our paperwork package, so that they know I'm doing this the right way.

Fingers crossed!

I had the same thought too! Haha.

Well... I have a new worry other than the NOA2. Yesterday I quit my job. I got an email from my boss saying that I was being passed over for a promotion (that should have been rightfully mine), because my wedding is my priority and I'm moving to Florida soon. Which is total discrimination. (My office has a high turnover rate, so even though I am potentially leaving by October - December, that's still longer than the amount of time that others have spent in this position). So I went in early before anyone got there and left my letter of resignation on my boss' desk.

So now the job hunt is on... but thankfully, I have a phone meeting later this morning with a job that goes from June - October, so fingers crossed!

Depending on when that one starts, I may be able to hop down to Florida quickly to see Tom :)

Good luck job hunting!

Welcome, Saku! I have no experience regarding your question that's why I am not going to speculate on how-s and what-s. Yet, what made me curios in your post is that you mentioned getting married in Japan. From what I know, K-1 filers are to be married within 90 days of beneficiary arrival to USA. And after that we are not to leave the country until we have advanced parole or green card ready. Not trying to be noisy here, and of course every situation is different but something out of ordinary always makes me wonder...

Guys, thank you for replying:) yeah sorry I shouldn't have called it "wedding". It confused you guys. It's just a little reception we will have in Japan for my family and friends since not all of them will be able to come to our actual wedding in the states. So we won't be legally married till I move to the states. I will look for a forum about it. If any of you know some advise, please let me know. Thanks:)

It should get better. I think approvals will accelerate at the end of the week. First day back. Physically they are at work. Mentally still at the beach. They better direct some more resources toward these petitions. The number of submissions is only going to increase into the summer months. They'll create a disaster for themselves if they don't keep up.

Memorial Day finally over. There's not another holiday until July 4 and I hope to have my NOA2 by then.

This is tough because I've watched 2 others at the Moldovan Embassy really go far already. One got his NOA2 around the same time as I applied...They are married now and going through AOS....and the other couple applied AFTER us and they're going in for interview tomorrow. It's frustrating to watch and try to explain how we're still waiting to my fiancee. She doesn't entirely understand it. I don't have a problem with the wait intellectually (the checks and security make our great nation more secure and safe) but I gotta admit this is hard on the heart.

Yes. Ha. Im hoping to maintain my positivity until after my VJ timeline estimate passes. About 131-137 days appears to be the average. And I guess after that it's time to initiate the congressional inquiry that way by day 150 it's ready to go. I dont think I'll ever understand how a 15 minute approval takes 5 months.
