The good news: We're now up to *4* approvals for last week. I just checked, and a new one just popped up from Jan. 24.

The bad news: Upon closer inspection, the newly posted approval is the other half of a couple, and hence a duplicate of one of last week's approvals. Oh, well. Strangely, they report their NOA2 one day apart.

Le sigh.

Hello Fub peeps!!!!!

I am back into the game )) Here is the short outline of my last week. I went to another city to get a visa stamped into my passport. Not a K-1 visa though (I WISH K-1 were that easy to get). I didn't take my laptop with me thinking I would have another computer over there available for me.Once I got to the place I was staying at, I went straight online to check if there were any "touches" or any movement whatsoever to my case number. And... that was the moment when I realized that automatic log-in/fill-in DOES NOT HAPPEN on other computers. Of course I didn't remember a single digit out of the case number besides VSC letters. I was laughing telling my fiancé about "silly me" whilst not having a slightest doubt that he would give me the case number again so I could track the changes. Nope. Nopity-Nopity-Nope! This man had the guts to say that it would be a good chance for me to cool off a bit because, according to him, I was spending too much time on immigration issues. I had been under impression that checking email, logging into uscis page 20 times a day, keeping up with most VJ updates was a healthy limit (joking here but I hadn't thought about me simply being obsessed) He had a different opinion, so he kept the case number a well guarded secret. All the attempts to convince/seduce/bribe/threaten were in vain. So I stayed clueless for the whole week. Consider this to be a confession of K-1 junkie.. LOL.. straight out from rehab!

The funny part is that he was totally right about me obsessing too much. Even though I knew that I would be getting an email if there were any changes to our case or he would be getting a text if there was an approval like I saw many people mentioning, it didn't stop me from logging into our uscis account much more often than permitted by common sense. Surprisingly I feel much more calmly right now. No matter how long it'll take them to get to our case, they will be there. Lost cases are mostly unheard of so just another couple of days/weeks/ months and we will be there. I just wish I could share this tranquility and "we will get there" feeling with you all :)

On the other note, I also wanted to ask your opinion. I am meeting my fiancé at the end of June - beginning of July. This is when (hopefully) we will be getting approval. So I was thinking that he might as well bring along all the documents I will be needing for my interview. Now, the big question is, won't it be too early? Interview might not happen for another two months or so after we see each other, and so far I was not able to find out for how long letter of intent is "valid for", so to speak. I understand that the closer it is to the interview, the better, but I would feel much more comfortable not relying on mail which is ridiculously unreliable in Russia. What do you guys think? When are you all planning on mailing/receiving the remaining documents for your interview?

Rob is submitting his request forms for his police report this week (hopefully that isn't too early), and I'm requesting my tax stuff this week. Since I'm unlucky enough to be going through slow-poke CSC,I have a bit of a wait ahead of me if the VJ timeline turns out to be accurate. My only problem is I used a lawyer to file. I realized the error of my ways in doing that after I discovered VJ, but what's done is done. Anyway, as a result, the lawyer (I hope) has a copy of the original I-129f package and I do not, so I'm going to have to somehow wrangle it from his office. I only have the original copy of the NOA1 and the receipt of payment. And I kept a copy of the money order I sent, so I have that. I'm hoping I will be able to get everything in a timely manner from his office, but after really getting to know the steps through VJ, I can understand why lawyers should NOT be involved in this process. It took his office about 5-6 weeks to submit my application even though I had everything sent to his office within 2 weeks. That's the only concern I have for a hold up once I get the NOA2. You'd better believe I'm going to do the next steps of the process on my own.

I had the same thought too! Haha.

Well... I have a new worry other than the NOA2. Yesterday I quit my job. I got an email from my boss saying that I was being passed over for a promotion (that should have been rightfully mine), because my wedding is my priority and I'm moving to Florida soon. Which is total discrimination. (My office has a high turnover rate, so even though I am potentially leaving by October - December, that's still longer than the amount of time that others have spent in this position). So I went in early before anyone got there and left my letter of resignation on my boss' desk.

So now the job hunt is on... but thankfully, I have a phone meeting later this morning with a job that goes from June - October, so fingers crossed!

Depending on when that one starts, I may be able to hop down to Florida quickly to see Tom :)

Hi! Feb filers:)

I've been reading this thread for a while now and this always makes me feel better to know that all of us are in the same situation fighting for our love ones:) but this is the first time for me to actually post something. I just wanted to ask you guys if any of you visit the states since you filed the petition. Currently, I live in Japan and thinking about visiting my fiancé sometime in this summer. My fiancé was going to visit me in April but he couldn't make it because of his tight work schedule. We will have wedding here in Japan in oct, but it feels like forever since last time I saw him (it was January). So I want to visit him but I know that there is a possibility that they won't let me enter the U.S and I might have to just turn around and come back without seeing him... :( So I was wondering if anyone did it and if so how did it go? And what did you prepair for it? I heard bringing the return ticket, wedding schedule/contract, or work contract will work to show that I have intention of going back to my country. If there are anything else worked well, please let me know. But my first question will be... is it smart to do so? And how likely am I going to be denied??

I know that you can come for a visit and that others have before, but I will let someone else pipe in about exactly what you need. You can also search the forums because this question I know has been asked before. Good luck!

As long as you bring enough evidence of ties to your home country (documentation of your job and housing that you must return to, mostly), it shouldn't be a problem visiting your fiance in the U.S. The part about your post that concerns me, though, is your reference to a wedding in Japan in October. If you do manage to get here on the K-1 before October, you won't be able to travel out of the U.S. again before your AP/LPR comes through, and if you don't, having a wedding before you enter the U.S. on a K-1 is not allowed. I'm sure you've thought about this, though, and aren't going to do anything that could jeopardize your ability to live in the U.S. later.

We will have wedding here in Japan in oct

Welcome, Saku! I have no experience regarding your question that's why I am not going to speculate on how-s and what-s. Yet, what made me curios in your post is that you mentioned getting married in Japan. From what I know, K-1 filers are to be married within 90 days of beneficiary arrival to USA. And after that we are not to leave the country until we have advanced parole or green card ready. Not trying to be noisy here, and of course every situation is different but something out of ordinary always makes me wonder...
