New to the website but I filed back in February the same date as you @afoyoswa (on the 24th of Feb). I am waiting with you guys and can't wait to get my girl home I really hope CSC moves fast and gets our NOA2 quick!

You make it sound like there are actually approvals during the week! And Miss AAA: "crawl" implies some sort of actual movement, doesn't it? The waiting is really wearing on me lately.

On the plus side, I just learned on Friday that my parents & one of my sisters will be arriving here from NC on Friday to attend my grad school commencement ceremony (yay for short notice!), and I am hoping to talk via webcam with Aaron while they are here so they can "meet" him. I am also making plans to take them to see the church where we'll have the wedding (with the ulterior motive of hoping that talking to the minister will calm them down a little bit, although it won't). If they behave themselves, I might even let them see my dress. We (by which I mean "they") really need to get to a better place with regard to their attitude about my relationship with Aaron and our plans, so hopefully this weekend will provide a nudge in the right direction.

I hope them "meeting" and talking to him makes a difference:) Seeing him and getting to know him should help them change their attitude and see why you do what you do. It must be hard to have to "convince" them this is right.

You need their support now more than anything else!

Aww Joy, didn't realize that your family has issues with your relationship. I hope they get to meet him and see how happy two make each other. I know how important family is to me so can imagine the stress it's causing you. Best of luck with things!

Just read your story. I do get the controlling, overbearing family. I love mine to bits and my parents really do rock in many ways. But a lot of what I've done in my life has been for them and not what I've wanted. I'm finally in a place where I speak up and tell them when I don't agree with them. This has turned into me being told that I'm always cranky or have a bad attitude. I also deal with the super religious parents (and live with them atm so it's really fun sometimes). Thankfully my mom has gotten over the shock of me marrying someone who's divorced with kids and loves them. I really hope your family takes the time to meet Aaron and can behave themselves. Ultimately it is your life, not theirs. But yeah, it would be great if they could be happy for you and share in the excitement of your special time.
