Well today about 15 minutes after my long call to USCIS the mailman came bearing the infamous letter. It of course states that my application for I-485 was identified as a potential interview waiver case and that we could expect a decision or other notice of action within 6 months. One can only hope. I really wanted to have my citizenship in time for me to vote in the next presidential election. We have to have had our green card for 3 years.

How's everyone else doing?

Congrats on being approved! smile.png I'd give USCIS a call and see what they say as it's been over a month, hang on, not USCIS, but the National Customer Service Center according to the USCIS site...

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

And.....we just got the same email last night! Wheee! It's funny how this seems so much less life-changing than the I-129F petition approval, even though it's a much bigger deal. Aaron is a permanent resident: YAY!

Fantastic news! We're still waiting on service request telling us something - but since I've already been back home now (and returning again in 5 weeks for my son's wedding), it takes the pressure off a little. I agree that it doesn't feel like quite the big deal that initial approval meant to us but, all the same, I will be glad to get past this hurdle :D

Super! dancin5hr.gif I got excited yesterday when I went to get the mail and saw a USCIS envelope...it was just my NOA1 for the AP since we decided to go ahead and apply for that...just in case!!! Excited knowing that people are getting the GC approvals though...means it's got to happen soon dancin5hr.gif

Well...I got the quick response I prayed for...unfortunately it's come in the form of an email saying I have a RFE on the way cray5ol.gif Just called but they couldn't tell me over the phone so I have to wait for the letter to arrive!!!

So.... you wait for 9 months and get nothing... you give them a poke to say you're still waiting and they are processing dates after yours... and THEN they decide they want more evidence. I sincerely hope it's something and nothing.

Having said that, we put in a service request, the nice lady said give them 15 days. I gave them 15 days and phoned to ask - another, even nicer, lady said 'give them 30 days'. 30 days is up on September 6th - we got our I-129F approval on September 6th 2012. Still no movement at all.

I also requested they expedite my re-application for I-131 since I already have an approved document. We'll see.

So.... you wait for 9 months and get nothing... you give them a poke to say you're still waiting and they are processing dates after yours... and THEN they decide they want more evidence. I sincerely hope it's something and nothing.

Yep...pretty much sums it up!!! Really praying it's something small and that it arrives tomorrow so I don't go crazy all weekend not knowing!!! God is still in control :D
