No interview and no news as yet for us on the GC. My priority date was November 16th on my NOA. Checking the processing dates on USCIS for the Washington office, as of 31st May 2013 they were processing 6th December 2012. So I'll probably give them a call next week to see what they say.

Maybe you get it very soon 'cause you have almost 9 months in the process , as I have read, without interview takes 9-11 months to get the GC.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking. I'm still not too fussed about it as I don't need the GC for anything at the moment.

Just an update to let people know about the process...

I received a letter from USCIS yesterday in reference to my call earlier in the week, they said it's unlikely that our case will need an interview but there's a back log so they won't get to our case until 6 months from the date of the letter - Personally I think this is one of those standard responses we get from them. I still think we'll hear something on the GC front in the next month.

Well it's good news that you may not have to worry about interview but frustrating that it just takes so long!

I returned to the US yesterday so thought I'd just mention here what the process was like since none of us seem to have a green card yet. I had my advanced parole letter, no problem at all in Manchester airport - they are very familiar with the document and it says clearly that it is authorises a carrier to transport me without liability. In Dulles, the first desk inspection was a little confusing. I'd been told I didn't need I-94 on the plane since they don't do them anymore. I'd clearly read before I left that I needed one so I checked in the immigration hall.. 'No, we stopped using them 4 months ago', I was told. Got to the desk - 'you need an I-94!' Half way through finger-printing, the officer just gave all my documents to me so I wandered off to get my bags and custom inspection and was told there I have to follow the signs to B. Very little information and explanation - don't know if they simply assume we've done it before. However, secondary inspection staff were lovely - they pointed out that my alien registration number was wrong on the letter and I had the number of a Vietnamese woman!!! (Couldn't believe I missed that having scrutinized again and again my paperwork!) But they cleared it all for me and let me through - they even had a sense of humour about it! I'm going back to the UK in October so will contact USCIS and ask them to change it. No other evidence was required even though I'd taken a wallet full of documents and ID.

For those of you planning to use an AP, it seems to me that your experience will depend very much on which routes you take. Some smaller airports around the world seem unfamiliar with the document and that can cause some delay. For Manchester - Washington, the process is very straight forward. I was in secondary inspection less than 15 minutes.

Still no GC here. I called USCIS today to get a status update. Apparently they couldn't tell me too much as Rob needs to be with me since he is technically the applicant, but they were able to tell me that our case is still being held at the National Benefits Center, and currently there is no processing time there. I assume at some point we'll be transferred to Chicago, but I'm wondering when. Several other Chicago people have gotten their GC's without interview, and they applied after us.

A quick update - spoke to USCIS yesterday who informed me that the office processing our case is working on cases from December 31st, so we are past processing. Completed the service request and she said wait 15 days. I did ask what would happen, typically, and she said that USCIS would either contact me to say it was approved, or request further evidence, or reject but essentially they should contact me with something.

I do notice that we're all coming up on the first anniversary of our I-129F petition approvals. 18 months of our lives taken up in paperwork. Then there's citizenship.... :D

Great to hear all went well...Dulles is the most likely for us to be going in/out of so if we have to use AP i'll make sure I get an I-94!!! Did you have a good time?

I called again today and was told, again, that we're within processing time - yeah according to the update that was last done on May 31st!!! I know why the don't update the system more...it means more cases would be out of normal processing time!!! I'm expecting it will be in the next month though! Jason thinks it will arrive in the mail on September 17th because it's citizenship day!!! I am going to get the AP application away just in case though!

How's everyone doing on the job front? I'm thankful I have one...that's all i'm saying! ClockWatch2.gif

Well today about 15 minutes after my long call to USCIS the mailman came bearing the infamous letter. It of course states that my application for I-485 was identified as a potential interview waiver case and that we could expect a decision or other notice of action within 6 months. One can only hope. I really wanted to have my citizenship in time for me to vote in the next presidential election. We have to have had our green card for 3 years.

How's everyone else doing?
