Hi everyone! Long time no see. Not much has been happening, immigration-wise, so I keep forgetting to check in! (And whoa, the site looks different!) A few weeks ago, I suddenly got a bunch of USCIS alerts on my phone and got all excited, only to find out that they were confirmation notices that we'd changed our address. Well, duh!

In non-immigration land, though, (almost) everything is great, except that we've been trying (to no avail) to get Aaron added to my primary checking account since he arrived. It's an online account through Capital One 360 (formerly ING Direct). We had no problem getting a joint account at BoA pretty much the day after he arrived, but CO360 just will not budge. Part of it is probably his lack of a credit history, which I haven't been as conscientious about addressing as I should have and he doesn't really understand the importance of. We applied for some sort of newcomers card for him a few days ago, and hopefully he'll get approved for that and we can start the ball rolling. The CO360 account is just too convenient for us in so many ways that it doesn't make sense to switch banks, so they had better come around at some point.

In other news, though....

...he got a job! He's in school, primarily, until he can boost his education level enough to be competitive for jobs in this area, but we wanted something stable and part-time with regular daytime hours, and my friend/ex-coworker mentioned an opening at her (my former) company. He applied, got an interview, and got the job: the first job he ever applied for in the U.S. I'm so amazed and proud. He's been there a week so far, and if all goes well it will take him through school and provide a giant boost to the family income. Which couldn't have come at a better time, because...

...we bought a condo! Somehow, we managed to keep the wedding affordable enough that we had enough left for a down payment once the dust settled. The new place is gorgeous, in a much more appealing neighborhood, twice the size of the apartment we were renting before (and with extra storage space, a shared porch/yard, and our own parking space, to boot), and the monthly cost to us is the SAME. Best of all, it has 3 bedrooms! One for us, one for guests, and an extra one. Which couldn't have come at a better time, because...

...we're having a baby! I'm due around Thanksgiving. wow.gif

What a year! And to think that last year at this time, I was sitting on the edge of my seat convinced that the NOA2 would never come and Aaron would never get over here and even if he did, how did I know that we'd get along well and be able to make a life work together. And somehow, pretty much everything fell into place <knock on wood>. Happy, happy, happy. biggrin.png

Ok this brought tears to my eyes! Yes! What a year for all of us! And congratulations on having a baby:) Yeah!

I'm doing ok, having my ups and down days but are settling in ok. I have found it hard not work......Planning a loooong trip to Norway this summer. Just got my employment card and are looking to start work as soon as I can get something when we return in August. Anxious to start working!!

Got two debit cards and a credit card early on and my credit rating is buiding slowly, thankful for that! Great to hear how everybodys doing:)

No news here yet either. I'm waiting for the 15th of the month to see when they update the processing times what month they're on. On the 15th last month they updated it to processing November 4th 2012 as of April 30th 2013. Our priority date was 16th November, so we should be hearing something soon!

That's for the Washington DC field office anyway.

We moved in April and had to update it - I got a confirmation letter at our new address so seems to have worked just fine!

I just called to see if there's anything new to find out as the last update online for Baltimore says as of April 30th they were working on applications from October 6th!!! I'm totally fine most days, but now and again I just get this longing to have that stupid green card in my purse!!!

I called today too, she said they were processing December now but not up to the date ours was accepted yet - if not heard anything in the next 3 weeks should be able to file past process. It's something I guess.

I'm using my AP though - flying home to the UK next Friday for a couple of weeks to catch up with family and friends. After 9 months of waiting, I decided to go to a family wedding there. It's good value - everyone will be in the same place at the same time :D

well here we are in July and we filed in Feb 2013 and still no NOA2

You aren't alone. I received NOA1 on 2/13/2013 and still havent heard anything. My lawyer says that they probably havent even looked at our case yet.

I contacted one of my state's senators 12 days ago asking for her assistance in this matter. Just this morning, I received the following email from the Senator:

Dear Mr. ,

Thank you for contacting my office regarding your K-1 visa application for your fiance. I appreciate you bringing this matter to my attention and I have asked the appropriate agency to respond to your concerns.

I will contact you again as soon as a response is available. If there is anything I can do for you in the interim, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Sincerely,

Maria Cantwell

United States Senator

I know it's frustrating to see March and April filers get approved ahead of us Feb filers, but hopefully we will hear something soon. I am trying to stay positive (and patient), but it sure isn't always easy.

Hi

I noticed that you submitted your K1 in Feb 2013, this is the Feb 2012 forum - just so you know. So I can tell you that I didn't get my NOA2 until August. It tended to be for us 2012 filers July-September NOA2's were coming. As I said, my NOA2 was the beginning of August 2012 and I finally had my interview October 4th. Just to give you an idea of time line for yourself, although I was moving from the UK - all consulates are different the way they handle the process.

You can check out some of the Feb 2012's timelines to get a more general idea if you want. I know the waiting is the hardest part. Us, Feb 2012s, are now on the wait for our greencards. I filed on November 14th 2012 and hope to hear something soon, but at this point most of us don't care how long it takes as we're with our partners now :)

Your NOA2 will be coming in the next couple of months.
