Just received my social security card in today's mail... wow that took more than a month! Applied November 27th!

So.... 2013 rolls around... I remember New Year's eve a year ago, we weren't even engaged yet (though we had looked at rings ) Now I'm living in TN with my husband, missing my salary in the UK but enjoying not having school stress! We petitioned USCIS on Feb 28th 2012. It was such a relief to get an approval on Sept 6th though so hard to wait most of the year for it. I know you can all relate to this...

We filed our AOS forms and applied for EAD, I update our timeline in VJ with these details and once again I get the 'Based on timeline data, ... may be adjudicated between...' projection. It feels a little strange to have another set of dates to anticipate. What feels REALLY weird though is what the dates are:

February 26, 2013 and February 28, 2013*.

my husband and i have been so busy and also we have been procrastinating . all the aos papers are done and everything is copied i just have to go send them.

where do i send them too. the instructions kind of confused me so i still send them to the dallas lockbox because that is the closest one?

I'm pretty sure that all the K-1 AOS go to Chicago. I don't think it's based on where's nearest, I think I read in the instructions that it's based on types of cases. Read through your instructions again - for those of us who checked box 'C' in Part 2 of the form, it says in 'D' of the 'Where Should You File Form I-485?' (page 5 of instructions) to send to USCIS Chicago Lockbox facility.

Loving all the updates!!! I have my biometrics appointment on the 11th in Baltimore In the waiting game of USCIS status checking again!!! Jason is in the final stages of pre-employment for a job that will move us into DC so i'm waiting to do the driving test so I don't have to then pay again to get a new one when we move!

Speaking of jobs, what are you guys doing about work? Rob has a few leads from friends who want to put him in contact with their employers, but he hasn't applied anywhere. When can a person apply? After getting the SSN? After the employment authorization goes through?

I'm not sure when we're actually allowed to apply...my thinking is that submitting an application indicates that you are eligible for employment. However i think if you spoke to someone directly or thru a friend, you could note an interest and explain your situation. Jason knew this job was a potential before I arrived so I've not started looking yet...i guess i should once it's all confirmed and we know we're moving!!!

Now we just have to wait for our marriage certificate, so that we can apply for my SSN, and get the ball rolling on the AOS paperwork. How long did it take you guys to prepare the package? I think we're going to start working on it this week. Any advice or anything I should know about that's important before getting started? I haven't really looked through the guides yet at all...

Hello. Haven't been in this forum for quite a while. I will be receiving my EAD today /it's in the mail/ and have a job lined up.

My own research showed that we are not allowed to even have an internship while waiting for EAD, if the internship "would normally be paid

or is going to turn into a job". Be sure to do your own research, but I am sure you are going to come to the same conclusion.

This is somewhat regarded as "taking a job from from an American" if you do for free what he/she would normally be paid for.

I guess no one can really tell you "do not apply for jobs" granted that some jobs take forever to get back to you. Make your decisions and

make sure not to get in trouble.

1070, NOA1 is received normally within a week. Biometrics is in a month, EAD took me over 75 days /it varies/ . Glad to be back and

Grr. I'm sure you've done this already, but are you able to call the embassy or the DOS to check the status of things? Do you have any way of getting updated on the status or how long something like this might take?
