I submitted copies and will take originals to interview. Except for the marriage certificate we sent an original.

Thank you for that - what about immunization record? Mine is a booklet and I don't have a record on a single sheet... just wondering how to attach a little booklet or if that's not what they want

Copies. Unless it specifies originals, I sent copies. I think the instructions says something to that effect. With the support form (I-864?) I think the tax/W2 forms needed to be originals.

Yes and yes the control number is the nonimmigrant visa number and the Annotation should be the alien number (A number), this should be the same number as the one on the NOA2.

I'm so confused!!! Keep reading different things - red number is the visa number, or control number is?! We're still debating whether or not to chance the temporary marriage certificate! Think we might just go for it so that we can mail both the AOS and WP together now and save money...worst they can do is hit us with an RFE for the real one!

ok so I just went to the I-485 instruction pages and it definitely states a copy of your marriage certificate, I-94 and the fiance petition approval notice is what you submit. Glad a double check seemed a good idea. I was mailing mine off tomorrow after I get my photos done but will pull out the original.

The A number is the alian number (same as number on your NOA2). The Control number is the visa number.

I think chance a copy of the temporary license. You should get a NOA for each thing you apply for. So they can RFE the AOS, but still pass the EAD etc.

Rob got his social security card in the mail yesterday, but his middle name is spelled wrong on it. It's spelled Arthor instead of Arthur. We were worried about this because the guy at the counter who processed his application couldn't seem to spell his name, in spite of the fact that it was typed correctly on the application and Rob repeated it to him three times. I hope it won't be too big of a deal to get it corrected. Other than that, we're working on gathering up our AOS stuff to get it sent off soon. It's so much easier to fill out forms with him in the room versus over skype.

Hey Gavin, congrats on your drivers license! Rob still hasn't tried driving here yet, because he hasn't felt ready, but I was wondering, how much practice did you have on American roads prior to getting the license? Is it a big change for you driving on the opposite side of the road?

Congrats on the SSN, I don't think it's too difficult to get the name changed, another visit to the office maybe?

I've driven Heather's car a coulpe of times, less than 2 miles in total. So I hadn't had much practice at all. I had occasionally asked Heather about road signs and the whole turning right on a red light - which was strange at first.

For Viginia we didn't know what was required, there's a handful of countries that are not required to do the tests, the UK unfortunately was not one of them. If Rob has done the UK one, it's similar with the theory part. Except that the booklet the DMV gave me to read in the waiting room was only a few pages - a lot smaller than the UK highway code. Most signs are similar to the UK or are common sense. Distances and speeds are different to the UK. The format of the test was...

10 road sign questions - I had to get 100% right or I'd fail

25 general questions - not sure how many I had to get right, but I got 3 wrong and passed

10 minutes of driving - Heather had to hand over her registration so I could use her can, they gave it back afterwards.

It was really easy, I think once I got used to crossing the road and looking the right direction for traffic, I was feeling better about driving.

Hey, does anyone remember how you found out that your passport was on its way home?

I totally spazzed out in the interview after she said I was approved, and I have no idea how I figure out if the passport has been sent - will they email? Am I supposed to log in somewhere to find my tracking number?
