i just hope this was minor and we will still get him here before thanksgiving like we planned

he told me there was a girl next to him and she didnt get approved but she was pregnant. so that made him nervous he was like if a prego girl didnt get approved how will i get approved. he is still sad. and again i am the one trying to be positive.. !

Just hang in there - it's good you're being positive - he will need that. When we're waiting like this, positive vibes are all we have

well turkey is strict. they said we just need to send some papers in the mail with the passport and we will get the visa :/

i was so sad. because they want all types of proof. i didnt print out any convos because we mainly talk... but they wanted that

and they said i didnt have my affadavit and i am 100% sure that i had that.

Was too busy last night celebrating to come back and post, but...Aaron was approved for his visa, right on the spot! YAY! The interview (with the infamous Nairobi blonde lady, or her replacement, no less) took only 3 minutes, and the CO didn't even look at any of the mountain of documents or photos I sent with him. We're waiting now for his passport with the visa in it to be ready so he can travel.

Congrats to kattze as well! And hoping for a good result from erminaNaydin also.

Congrats Joy, soon he'll be flying over to you!

Well, my kids arrive in the US this afternoon, his kids come in an hour later... so all the sibs will meet up for the first time!

Our wedding is on Saturday and I'm soooo excited to get this far! In case I'm too busy in the next couple of days to get on here... happy wedding day also to Michel and Kim (also on Saturday) and also to Sarah and Jason for Sunday! What a happier place VJ is these days

Hope those waiting get here soon too!

Hey all! I was wondering how you guys brought money here. Rob has a savings account, and I've heard there are ways to transfer money here, but I'm not sure. For now, he's put his mom as a co-signer on his account, and will only bring a certain amount over, but the goal will be to get the balance here someday. Any recommendations or places you trust?

I am planning on transferring money myself in Dec and I have been recommended Torfx and XE.com by some friends who have done similar in the past.

You get the best exchange rates and pay no fees.

I use a company called Global Currencies. It costs £15 for the transfer and the US bank charges $15 to receive it, the exchange rate is very good and the transfer is very fast. I transfer the money to them and send them the details of the bank account to transfer it to, then in most cases I can see it incoming to the bank the same day and draw on it the next. The last transfer I did was this week and I got 1.59 as the exchange rate

I'm one of those lingering....In Norway... got my visa weeks ago but could not quit my job before I got NOA2 and have three months notice. So last day of work is in three weeks (November 30). Also got out of my apartment today. Such a relief and also so sad.... What a mix of feelings this is....

But still so happy to soon soon be with the man I love.

I have: 3 US style passport photos, my passport, my immunization records, my confirmation letter for the interview and $250 cash. Can anyone think of anything I'm missing?
