How's everyone doing?

Just a bit of encouragement for everyone, I was looking at the USCIS processing chart trends and noticed that May 2011 had the highest number of completions (approvals or denials) that year. So if that trend holds true then we should be seeing a lot of action this month and with any luck, I hope some of that action comes our way. I am personally starting to get my act together. I need police clearance from China and given the unknowns in that equation, I need to start working on that this month. I think things like evidence of an ongoing relationship are things to be thinking about too...at least to start listing what it is you intend to include. Come June, I will become fully conversant with all the paperwork so that come July when the approval comes in (or if I'm lucky, June), it's pretty much touch and go. My continued good wishes to everyone on this journey and hereafter

I hope you're right, Rose! And yes, I am starting to think about the next phase, too. I'm kind of hesitant to get Aaron working on the police clearance this early (I believe it's good for 3 months? it might be tempting fate to assume anything right now), but I have definitely been being more mindful about creating evidence of our ongoing relationship. We're talking on the phone and texting a lot more often, and I've even sent him a few things through the mail (remains to be seen whether they'll ever get to him!).

And in other news, I don't know WHAT was going on yesterday at CSC, but I like it!

Yeah, it definitely seems to be embassy-specific! For the African embassies, fresher definitely seems to be better...

Yeah, I just noticed, waaaaaaaaaaaay to go CSC , here's hoping you keep it up! Yeah, Joy, I wouldn't get the police clearance just yet either. I am getting my Kenya police clearance when I get NOA2 (only takes 3 weeks to get anyway, just as long as the NVC process). I am starting the process of getting the Chinese one now because I am fairly certain it will take a while.

I totally understand the frustration! I would so love to be headed to the UK for a visit this month like I did last May. Time needs to move a little faster right now. I keep looking at my timeline and it gives my possible NOA2 right around my birthday so I did think that would be a nice present

Even without the approval, I hope you have a great birthday and get to spend some time together, even if it's just on the phone or computer :)

His birthday is May 15 and mine is May 29, so either of those dates would be perfectly fine (however unlikely)!

We have no current plans for another visit before the interview (seems irresponsible to spend that much, with the wedding and AOS coming up), but it's really hard waiting. Not so much missing him (which is always there), but that feeling you get after a few months where it is hard to fathom that you ever were in the same place at all. That's the worst thing.

He was very ill a few weeks ago, and that more than anything else made me want to rush over there to see him. Fortunately he's better now.

The VSC graph went over 50% of December approvals yesterday! And the CSC graph for December is shooting upward, too.

Oooh, a VSC approval just got posted from someone who sent the petition Jan. 6 (and got NOA1 Jan. 23: can't tell why that took so long...is that the hard copy arrival date, or did the petition just travel to the lockbox by way of Mexico, or something? I'd prefer the latter!)! And it's another Nairobi couple!

Awesome!!! I have a good feeling about VSC Feb filers, I think it's very likely a lot of you guys will get NOA2 no later than mid-June if they keep up the pace. Miracles might happen at CSC too but it's VSC I have a strong feeling about. I'm good either way, it will just be so exciting to see NOA2 approvals come in for people I have been patiently waiting with. I think the first 3 months are the absolute worst and couldn't have pulled through those without you guys. We're almost there gang and whoever gets there first, I'm gonna be thrilled to see it happen!

I came here to see what's up rather than doing paperwork (I know tsk tsk, it's Friday) and love the news of approvals for Dec! That is a really weird time frame for that one couple though. Wonder what happened. BTW Joy, we got engaged on your anniversary and it's also my mom's birthday :)

I'm being pathetic this weekend. Alan is at his parents' caravan in Wales and doesn't have much internet/cellular service. I am being all mopey and feel ridiculous when I see people here who don't have stable phone or internet to talk. I am so amazingly proud of those of you who can't be in regular contact with your sweeties. I don't know how you do it. Suppose you get used to the "norm." I was happy with a little chat every few days until we discovered daily oovoo calls. :)

I was chatting online with a friend last night. He was falling apart because he hadn't seen his gf in about 2 weeks and she's a whole hour away from him. They work opposing hours and his car died. Poor guy is a lot younger than me and was so distraught. It was like his world was ending even though they chat on the phone daily. I told him what people here go through and he suddenly realized he was being a little dramatic lol.

HAHAHA!! I know, right? I'm sure we've all been in situations where we hear about people doing "long distance" relationships only to find out that they're a few hours away (by plane or by car). I know all of us here would think, "Psh! Please."
