my interview is still SO. FAR. AWAY.

My wait from NOA2 - Interview is almost as long as NOA1 - NOA2! Damn Montreal.

I guess it's a blessing in disguise, because I still need time to get my condo sold, and my wedding dress is going to be ready in December, so I probably couldn't cross before then anyway. But It's So. Far. Away.......

I totally get you. Even if we can't leave before December (due to work)I'm so happy that all of this is almost over and that the visa will be here long before we travel! The interview is just something you don't want to wait for a long time fo.

But...even if there's no reason you wouldn't get approved, you love each other, you filled everything out perfectly fine and truthfully and in your best knowledge, there is just no question about the validity of your papers, etc. etc., having a difficult consulate means you still have to worry and worry and worry and plenty really can go wrong. That was what I was getting at. I'm terrified. If we were going through a European embassy, I probably *would* buy a ticket to save money, but if anyone wants to be horrified and scared (for me, not for yourselves), check out the Nairobi embassy thread.

Still, at least it's not, say, Lagos or Guayaquil. And at least I have the visit to focus on! 27 days!

It's so exciting that some of the February beneficiaries are really close to being on their way over! I can't believe how long we've all been at this: it's been a long, strange ride, but I'm glad to have been in this boat with all of you. May we all make it safely ashore (and soon!).

I feel for you and it's another part of the process that is not fair...

We really have been in it together and for me it's been really nice to read and "be" with people who really understand what I'm going through. Beacause you have to be in this process yourself to understand it.

I agree completely. You have to have no doubts whatsoever about the paperwork. Then it comes down to reading as much as you can about the embassy and experiences of other people. For me, I've read a lot about the one in the UK and as a result I'm more than happy to book my flight. I've also read some tough stories about other embassies where there is no way I'd book the flight until the visa was in hand.

It's very exciting now, exciting that a number of February filers will be together for Thanksgiving with much thanks! Then most of us will be with our partners for Christmas, how's that for a Christmas present?

Yep, I agree Even now when I talk to people, I can see that they don't really grasp what I'm saying. Perhaps I'm just bad at explaining So many different stages of the process, the experiences and emotional whirlwind. I don't know about others, but where I am at the moment is strange. It's strange to be really happy to being close to being with Heather again, but still missing not being with her. At the same time, still being with family and friends, but starting to miss them. Even with the interview looming, the only thing I'm now focusing on is that super amazing hug that we have at the airport - the first hug that doesn't have a future goodbye hug, our first hug that signifies the start of our lives together

I totally feel the same!! I sometimes don't know what emotion to feel!!! No-one can truly understand how this all feels unless they've been thru it and that must be hard for them too as they want to. I'm trying to make the most of time with family but like you my thoughts are consumed with seeing Jason's crazy big smile as i walk thru that arrivals
