Thanks everyone!

I still haven't managed to get good passport photos done. I took my Floridians to Niagara Falls on the weekend, and we walked to the closest pharmacy in on the US side that did passport photos (a 40 minute walk uphill - after walking all around Niagara Falls and the Rainbow Bridge... OUCH!), and I'm kind of upset with the way they turned out. The lady who took them told me that the ones with my glasses would be fine, even though there was a tint (they are transitions lenses, and weren't back to clear yet when she took them), and I took a set without my glasses, but since I wear glasses daily, I'm not sure that they're acceptable either. So I think I'm going to visit WalMart or something today to see if they can take US-style photos, and then I will send them off tonight.

I dropped Tom & the gang off at the airport this morning, and I've been up since 4am (his flight should be arriving right around now, actually) and now I'm at work and exhausted LOL. But it was one of the greatest weekends ever :)

Hi there

Glad you had a nice visit. I did my photos state side and they made me take off my glasses, which I wear all the time. For the cost of new ones I would go for the no glasses ones for sure.

Catching up on everything at once hehehe

So we hear that NVC has our case September 13th, NVC told us they sent it on to consulate September 14th, London doesn't have it yet on September 17th, DOS tell us on September 20th that London has the electronic copy but not yet logged in the hard copy to the system. Today (22nd Sept) I receive a letter from the embassy dated yesterday, referring to previous correspondence and not had a reply from me!!! I have 60 days in which to reply!!

I spoke to a very nice operator at the embassy who tells me that our file is logged in, gave me a code to send an email, let me pay my visa fee and said I could book a medical (done!)...! He said correspondence went out to me on 13th September - that's the same day it was received by NVC - how can this be??

I can't keep up - we hear such different things. After waiting 6 months from NOA1 for NOA2, I wasn't expecting it to sit at NVC for only 24hrs but I called the embassy anyway. After hearing it wasn't in yet, I wasn't expecting a letter saying I haven't replied yet!

I've just read - here - that the embassy is scheduling for November now... I have to say, I would absolutely take that with a pinch of salt since the operator said this morning that interview could be any day now.

What am I learning from this process? There are 2 speeds... snail pace and so-speedy-gonzalez-they-can't-keep-up-with-themselves pace! :D

Let's hope things move faster for all of us - I think London are quite advanced in clearing up their summer backlog.

Ron, you are in my thoughts... you have waited long enough and deserve a decision now.

Shezi

Ugh this whole process is a headache and a nightmare! They really need to get their acts together and all say the same thing. I've never seen an organization where one department doesn't know what the other is doing and they all give random information.

Sorry, I've been a little absent over the last few days while my love has been here with me!

Yesterday we had our Jack and Jill shower and it was SO amazing!! Everyone had such a great time!

Also, yesterday, while I was getting my hair done for the party, I also received Packet 4 in an email!! WOOHOO! Quicker than I was expecting! Unfortunately, my photos were not acceptable, because of the dark colour of the background, so I'm going to take some new ones today and hopefully send them off today as well. Then I can book my interview :D

A super fantastic day all around :D

Yay! I'm so glad you had a great time with the family and got packet 4!!!

We have some things that make us feel closer.

1. We watch movies together online while we talk on Skype.

2. We play video games together on the PS3

3. I have an iPad and I leave him connected on it so I can carry him around the house with me while I do chores.

4. We go to bed together and night. I know this is silly, but I put the iPad in the bed. I can hear him gently snoring all night next to me and I find it really comforting.

5. Maybe a little nerdy, but we write stories together in Chapters. Not for anyone else, but just for us to pass the time. It's really fun! I'll write a chapter and then he'll write a chapter, and so on.

That's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm curious what other people do. Maybe I'll get some good ideas!

Oh we're the king and queen of Oovoo LOL. We leave it running all day/night whenever possible. I read bedtime stories with his kids almost every night. We'll watch the same shows and movies. We're huge geeks and play World of Warcraft and Star Wars The Old Republic together. I sometimes make him log into Second Life and hang out there, go to an amusement park or skating or something like that. He's not as much into SL as I am. We also sleep with the call running. I have a super comfy headset and he leaves it on speakers. Hearing someone sleeping really does help. I hate the nights when we can't leave the call running. We have Google talk on our phones so we don't have to spend money on texting internationally and can be in touch at any time.

Hey guys.

They gave me an interview date 3 weeks from the day I called =( All because we have a new ambassador coming. And 3 weeks for Bulgaria is a long time. All the rest of the girls before me got dates 3 days after the phone call.. And 3 weeks for me ... :(

On top of everything else, fiance is getting cold feet because we haven't seen each other for 8 months.. I don't know what to do.. Stupid USCIS, stupid NVC, stupid everything.. :(

Hope you guys get over the little bumps! I'm sure his cold feet will warm up once you're through the whole process. Three weeks isn't so bad. Keep your chin up!

NOVEMBER 1st NOVEMBER 1st NOVEMBER 1st NOVEMBER 1st NOVEMBER 1st!!!!!

WOW.. just reading your message made my heart race.. YEAH.. Hope I feel the same way when we get to book ours.

When we got our NOA2 Glenn was working but I called anyways a couple of times but he was always in the OR doing a case. Finally the nurse just said Terri call this number so I did it was the OR....I told him about the approval then said "now get back to the patient on the table" I got an email from Vancouver Consulate after sending them an email explaining my situation and they said they would expedite us once they received our approved petition... OH PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let it be before my surgery on Oct 18..

WHAT IS THERE INSIDE ON PACKET #3?

Depends from embassy to embassy. The UK one just sends a letter with a link to download the forms, others may send the forms.

When I sent the packet 3 forms in, I sent the following...

DS-156

DS-156K

DS-157

DS-230 - part 1

DS-2001

Forms DS-156 and DS-157, you need to send in 2 of each (duplicate copies)
