so the uscis person on the phone told me that it is normally for the petiton to go straight to the consulate.. i thought that was wrong.. but what if she is right?

Nope she must be a noob. All of them go to NVC first and then forwarded to the appropriate embassy.

Yeah, that was the other thing I sent, I also sent copies of passport pages with the stamp showing entry into Toronto. I did read the RFE letter over 100 times at it stated that at a minimum it would take 14 days to process. So not including the recent holiday it took us about 12 days after getting the update that it was received by them. I have looked at other timelines at that seems to be the average time to get a response. Good Luck on your journey. I am sure it will get approved.

Expecting packet 3 this week, this post NOA2 stuff is great! everything works in blocks of a days and weeks instead of blocks of 6.5 MONTHS!

For all those still waiting, hang on in there! It gets so much better after the NOA2!

I can speak from experience. After NOA2 my fiance got her visa approval about 3 weeks later. Make sure you know and are familiar with what the next steps are as soon as you get your NOA2 approval. Start working on those I-134's. It will be hectic and exciting at this stage.

Any word/update on the interview wait times for london?

The word on the London thread is it is taking 6 weeks for them to process packet 3 and the DS-2001, and a minimum of 3 weeks after that for the interview. In other words, grrrrr.

Really? They must have it by tomorrow. I looked at the AOS stuff a couple of months ago, found some good videos on youtube for filling in some of the forms. I'll have to look them up again and post some links. Not too sound a bit girlie, but I'm really looking forward to my fiancee putting on my wedding ring. *cough* *cough* me man, strong

Awesome, glad you've found one We went shopping together for Heather's ring in the US, but the ones she liked in pictures she didn't like on her finger. So it was a good trip to find out what worked I found a bridal set in England in the end, which Heather really liked We had had another shopping trip in May for my wedding ring and actually found and put a deposit down on the day. I've worn it once for trying on at the shop and I keep looking at it when I'm missing Heather.

I called the US Embassy, they said that my paperwork had been processed and I should hear within 3 weeks for my interview date. Really hoping that they make that within a week

So it took them just over a week to process my paperwork(packet 3) for those of you going through the US Embassy here.

This makes me smile You are a few days ahead of me in terms of paperwork/medical so maybe mine will be processed by the end of the week

Great to see so much progress! We decided to stop trying for an earlier interview date and start planning around the Nov. 5 one we have scheduled already. I scheduled his medical exam for Oct. 31, and I am going to fly in the previous week so that we can spend some time with his family before we travel to Nairobi for the interview.

So, lots of preparation to do! And my 2nd ("summer") job decided that they have enough funding to keep me on as long as I want to stay and would really like the extra help, so my schedule is still insane. It helps to think that this could be our last full month apart, though!

They wanted additional evidence that we met in the last two years prior to the date they received our application. I actually sent this the first time with flight confirmations, email conversations between the two of us confirming travel arrangements, and photos showing us together during that time frame both in Toronto and here in Atlanta. Apparently, that was not enough. So I sent additional pictures, emails, tickets from attractions we visited in both locations, and an affidavit from both my mother and sister confirming our relationship and us meeting prior to the date USCIS received our application. This seemed to satisfy their requirement and we finally got the approval.

This whole time it felt like we was holding our breath, and once we saw the approval we was able to breath air again. I know everyone on this site can share the same feeling.

Congrats on finally getting approved but when I read the reason for the RFE this makes me so nervous as I am dreading and fearful of getting an RFE as it is now beyond 216 days and still no word. I really thought initially that USCIS receiving our petition Feb 14 that we would be married by the end of the year. However, that doesn't seem likely.

Well, a new day a different story. I reached the 200 club 5 days ago and still no word from Vermont. I called last Thursday and was told they were working on 6 Feb (my date 27 Feb) and I should call back when they are past working on my date. "you are still in your timeline". So I called back Friday and they told me they were working on 27 Feb and to call back on Monday. I thought I would give them an extra day and called this morning. I was told they were working on 27 Feb and should call back later in the week. I demanded to speak to 2 level supervisor, the lady said it could be a couple of hours wait. I told her no problem I am retired and can and will wait. A recording came on and said I should be waited on in 2-3 minutes. Guess what I was! A nice guy agreed with me it was out of time limits and he would file a service request and I would hear back within 10 days. He took all my info and email address. So hopefully he was serious and something will happen. I have seen nor heard of any movement on us Feb filers in the last week. I hope other people are getting approved. Good luck to all Ron

Just for info I filed my service request on august 22 and have heard nothing since. I called after 15 days and was given an email address for a followup and was told to wait 21 more days before filing for an info pass to speak with an agent in person.
