It's my understanding that they all go through the NVC, and that's where they're assigned the case number and forwarded to the embassy... I'm not 100% sure though. I feel like this came up previously and the answer was that it does go through the NVC regardless. I don't have a copy of my NOA2 right now otherwise I'd re-read what mine said :/

Yeah mine said that but i discovered that's just the way they write it on the NOA2 to say its on its way to the embassy VIA the NYC. It totally confused me too!!!

if i read the instructions online for packet 3 and send my finace that. does that mean that he wont have to fill

Packet 3 includes a checklist and instructs you to fax part 1 of DS-230 (for Vancouver)

You then gather all the required documents check them off as you do then it gets faxed as well as your ds-230.(vancouver)

They then send you your packet 4 which instructs you how to book your interview and a list of panel physicians so you can arrange your medical.

I was told by a fellow Vancouver person who just finished all this said she was told to email the consulate when you have been given your new case number and ask them to please send packet 3 & 4 by email. It cut down the time.

All second hand info but I did it anyways.

Now wait for the packets to arrive.

so all the ppaer works i do . do i have to have any of my info.... idk im so confused. here is the instruction for the ankara embassy in turkey. i was wonder can you help!! if its not too much to ask for..

You should check out the portal for Turkey for more consulate specific information, but the beneficiary needs to fill out all the DS forms. Even in the case where duplicates are required, both of those go to the embassy, so it is 2 copies of something he filled out. The petitioner is responsible for filling out the 134 form and supplying any supporting evidence for that. For the DS forms, you can work with your fiancé to complete them, if you want, but the person living in Turkey is responsible for submitting them.

after your noa2 the forms you fill out are for your information, except the I-134 which is the financial info from the American citizen.This is when we actually apply for the fiancee visa.

are you talking about the DHL process...? If so, I've saved this in case the magic day ever comes when we receive our NOA2..

"Hi, I was going crazy calling NVC everyday and I had given up when I had saw this on a post from another person and decided to give it a try. I went to www.dhl.com clicked Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, on this page you add your search info..You change the day and month to what you think your's might have left NVC

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: Egypt / You Choose your Country

The day I was trying this I saw a package had left for Egypt. I thought could that be our's? I called the NVC and I was told our package had gone out. The one I had saw was our's I was so happy. I just checked our's it's at the Sorting Center in Egypt now, it's moving fast

Someone with the example date I made up above for the country of Egypt has a package going to Egypt now as you will see if you try this. "

Yes they all must go to the NVC then forwared to the Consulate.

You would need to double check for the Turkey consulate - they're all slightly different. However, when they say 2 copies, read it as duplicates. I assume the forms have the same numbers, I had to do a duplicate for DS-156 and DS-157 - I also did for DS-157K, just to be safe

Someone said on Friday that they had been checking the numbers and quite a few on the 27 Feb got approvals or RFE's I checked Igor's list and only one approval and it was not for 27 Feb, does anyone think there will be a lot of approvals tonight like it was a couple of weeks ago? I am so tired of waiting as I am sure all the rest of you are(( Good luck to us all. Ron

i will call NVC tomorrow and see if the case got in. it might be too early but it doesnt hurt to try!

I sent Packet 3 back today via Canada Post XpressPost (rather than DHL). It didn't cost much, only $9.80, and it comes with a tracking number. It should be there either tomorrow or Tuesday... we'll see how long the turnaround is now, to get Packet 4.
