So i have a somewhat of a complication to add to my fiance visa. Her mothers health is getting progressively worse and i am guessing that i have to wait for this approval to go through in order to sponser her mother correct?? I am also 23 days into my service request with no word i think i should call and bug them again.

Hmm, I know Montreal is slightly different than the other consulates... what they're asking me for in Packet 3 is:

DS-230 part I

DS-156 – 2 copies

DS-156K

Confirmation receipt regarding Form DS-160

checklist of documents to gather for the interview

2 color photographs

Photocopy of the biographic data page of the applicant’s passport

Everything else (including the I-134 and those docs) gets brought to the interview, I just have to check them off to say that I have them... So I guess I could probably just submit all the packet 3 stuff before he gets here, since I know I will have all the documents for the I-134 in a week.

But now I'm confused if I can just send all that stuff out, without them saying that they've sent Packet 3 to me, and just attach my MTL # to it, so that they know what package it goes with? That would probably make it go a little bit quicker. I read in another thread that someone booked their interview in Montreal yesterday for November 19... and I really don't want to let it go too late... I really want to be in Florida for Christmas, and not have to drive through a snowstorm in a u-haul - so the earlier I can go down in the winter, the better!

I don't know about sending it right away without them saying that they've sent packet 3 to you. The moment we receive packet 3 I'm sending it right back and Kim will send me the details later. Like you know for sure that Tom will bring everything when he comes to you. If you know they're sending packet 3 to you, I guess you could already send it in.

Ughhh now I'm worried about being together for Christmas. Someone just posted in the Canada forum that they're now booking at 74 days out!! By the time I get packet 4, I think I'll be lucky if I get a December interview date. I was hoping our legal wedding would be 12/12/12 (we got engaged on 11/11/11 - our big family/friends wedding is planned for May 18, but I thought it might be nice to have something cute to remember the legal day by!).

I ordered my police clearance today... Guess there's nothing I can do but roll with the punches and be as prepared as possible. Nothing about this process has been easy or quick in any way.

I just got back from Staples and the post office. I sent a letter highlighting the different parts of the UK decree absolute, a color copy of the decree with highlighter on the points presented in the letter, a copy of the blank back of the decree with a note specifying what it is, a color copy the unaltered decree, a black and white copy which shows much greater detail in the county stamp registering the decree as official and final. And then I added a note to the RFE notice because my name was spelled wrong on the RFE. Express mail was guaranteed by 4pm tomorrow and was almost $20. First class with tracking was $4 and would get there by Saturday. I opted for the first class because I figure they won't do anything with it in Friday afternoon anyway. When I got home I called in a service request for them to make the correction to my name (For some reason they thought Elizabeth was spelled EliTzabeth). The woman was really nice and said that the service request shouldn't slow down our petition. Lets hope she's right.

YEAH. Just got off the phone with NVC. TA DA we have our new case number.

Now we just wait for it to be sent to our consulate.

Love this part way better than that first waiting black hole.

I told him, he could most likely mail everything on Friday and that should be good in terms of it getting there after our petition is logged. It's so funny how fast we want everything to get logged and viewed and filed since we've all waited so dang long in the first part of this process!!
