Hooray for all of the approvals!

We hit a brick wall. Interview appointments at the Nairobi embassy have historically (well, for the past year or two on VJ, including a couple who scheduled theirs Aug. 28) been available as little as a few days out, and generally no more than a week from what I've seen. So, when I finally got into the system yesterday, I was really not expecting the earliest appointment to be...Nov. 7. We managed to reschedule to a Nov. 5 one since then, but we'd picked a tentative wedding date of Nov. 3 (which should have been feasible) to generate evidence to bring to the interview, so that's looking dubious. Yay. Dead-of-winter-style wedding, coming right up. Hoping we can get an earlier date (and checking obsessively), but...meh.

It's not the end of the world. But when this is supposed to be one relatively predictable, straightforward part of this whole messed-up process, it makes me even more worried about the parts that are anything but predictable or straightforward, you know?

Congrats on everyone's approvals today. I didn't end up doing a total from the spreadsheet, but the VSC seemed to be pretty busy compared to the past week.

Joy - I'm sorry you're dealing with more ####### with the interview. I'll cross my fingers for an earlier open slot.

And now I move on to stalking the mailman for the hard copy of the RFE. Thanks for reminding me about the blue sheet! The waiting just doesn't end

sorry for your RFE. i was screaming and yelling and jumping. i was so excited i wanted to cry but i was just soooo happy!!!!! but yours wil come soon meg and alan. just have hope!!! hopefully the RFE is just a minor thing!

You can work on your paperwork/evidence, but until you get a case number the medical can't be setup. All consulates are different though, so it might be worth calling or checking their website to find out their process. Look up where the medical is and maybe give them a call to see what the wait time is for an appointment - I booked mine as soon as NVC sent out our petition to London. Then you'll know if you should book it as soon as you have your case number or wait a week etc. Vaccinations? It may be cheaper to get from the doctor beforehand rather than at the medical.

Joy, I am sorry to hear that you have ran into another bump in the road. You have done so much to help all of us in Feb time frame and now you get this heaped on you. Its surely not deserved and I hope you can get an earlier date. Hi friends!

Happy to see some of you that have been waiting got your approvals. Julian's medical is Friday and it looks like, (through DHL) that the embassy got our package this morning!!!!

Julian spent all day yesterday working on the packet 3 paperwork and is all done with that so we are getting it done!
