We both have the same filing date, 2/27/12. They sent me a text of RFE on 9/4/12. I received the RFE Hard copy on 9/6/12. I just sent my response to them this morning by Express Mail so it should be received there by tomorrow afternoon. Based on other people estimated wait time for a decision over REF, it takes 2-3 weeks for them to approve the petition from the date they received your response. RFE is not that scary issue, I know approval is much better, but If you get stuck with RFE, at least someone reviewed your application other than being pending forever. I sent photos with date stamped on the front bottom corner of each one, however, they told me I need to put the date and place of each photo with my handwritting on the back of each photo!!!!! Helllooooooooooooo. Thanks God anyway.

I wish you all the best of luck.

Thanks! I'm glad to see someone with the same date who's gotten movement on their petition. It's like they stopped 4 numbers from mine on the 27th and then picked up again 8 numbers after my batch. The only reason I'd be upset with the RFE is that we're petitioning the UK courts to allow my fiance to bring his boys. If we have the NOA2, it's a kick in the butt for them to make the decision (which I pray is going to be yes cause I would have a really hard time closing my business and having to start from scratch again there). Any good thoughts you guys could send regarding that custody case would be really appreciated :) Hope you get your reply to the RFE really soon!

Hi, we have the same day as you two(2-27-12) and not a word. I can't seem to quit looking at my computer. USCIS site, then V.S.site then my email and round and round we go. I called about 2 weeks ago and was told they are working on the 6th of Feb and to call back after they are working on our date plus 30 days and they would file a info pass or some such thing. Being retired from the Air Force and Homeland Security I am very disappointed in my Government. I don't know what else to do other than wait, as it is just plan stupid to think my congressman or senator would do anything to help me. I know if we ALL wrote to their reps something might be done but ALL must write or nothing will happen. So like the song says "waitin on a woman" good luck to us all. Ron

Oh grrr they stopped at that number and never started back up again. Stupid USCIS. I called a few weeks ago and got the same info from them. I can't imagine how frustrating it is being a former government worker. Hope you see an approval soon too!

Have a good day out, the medical is a breeze so you can relax with that :) The US embassy is relatively near to the doctors, so it may be worth checking it out so you have an idea for the interview when it comes around :)

Thanks Gavin...yeah i've been to the US twice on short student VISAs so i'm a seasoned pro at getting to the embassy!

Well i'm just home from my little day out in London which happened to include a medical  Really straight forward...arrived at the doctors at 12.45 for my 1.10 appointment and had the additional questionnaire to fill out. I had to get an extra MMR booster shot as it seems the one I had in 2005 wasn't enough...so make sure you check into that...I had given the nurse at my GP clinic the requirements and she had said I didn't need anything!!! Oh well...what's another £38 for an MMR shot! Few minutes wait and then in for the chest x-ray...another few minutes wait and then I was called by the doctor. Lots of chat thru my medical history...i've had knee surgery...lot of small talk as she was checking all the paperwork. Had an eye test and blood pressure taken then had to lay down for a full body check. Then she took a blood sample, told me i'm very healthy and I went back to the waiting room until I was called to pay! If I don't hear anything in the next 2 days then my x-ray and bloods are fine and the embassy will have my results by the end of the week

Plenty of time to fit in a Krispy Kreme fix (or was it 2!!) at Selfridges and even soak up a bit of the Olympic team parade atmosphere...missed seeing the actual parade but saw the RAF and red arrows fly overs which was cool! Can't wait until I go back down for my interview!!!

Awesome, glad it went well and you had a good day. I read about someone before that had to have an MMR top up injection. I had my MMR the day before the medical, so mine was fine, but thinking about it she did mention getting an additional MMR at some point (not for the visa though, all fine for that).

Quick question how much is the medical ?

£227 for the actual medical and then extra if you need any shots! I could have gone back to my GP or waited to get it in the US before the AOS but since I was there I just wanted it done so that box was ticked!!!

What is the next steps now ?

This is a good thread to look thru...helped me a lot! When the NVC receive your file you will be able to get your LND case number which means you can then book an medical. Get all your forms filled out and ready to go...all the evidence etc from your fiancee.

USCIS is still giving the 02/06 processing date BS. The guy I spoke with said they're behind in all of their processing but doesn't know why. He also said he wished they would update the webpage to be accurate. Guess they're getting a lot of angry calls LOL
