Hey everyone...

Speaking of languages, My fiance is russian and i have been trying to study it though its not easy at all...I will teach him my language Luganda when i get there...but so far, I can't say I have much luck in learning the russian language...It is complicated for a fact because he says so too and his parents say that too, but i am trying my best to learn, decided to give myself a break and refocus on it...with new zeal.

Also, i have failed to include a ticker on my profile completely yet I want too so bad. Can anyone help a lost person in ticker world like myself??? Its been 3 months since we filed our petition. We sent it to Texas but it was forwarded to California. Sometimes I am really tired of all this waiting and sometimes it feels like we just put our petition in (those are the times when we have frequent and regular contact regardless of time.)But other times I feel we have been waiting forever because we only get to talk for about an hour or less everyday and that's too little compared to those times when we spend 5 hours talking and chatting...arggghh the wait is killing me but its all we have for now..

Good luck to us all and God speed on our petitions.

Hi Ann,

I'm quoting someone else's response here:

"I had hard time figuring out it too :) This is the website where I got mine from, http://www.tickerfac...er_designer.php In the end when you done with the choosing your ticker, they will give you codes. The one you need to use is bbCode. Just paste it into your signature and you will have pretty picture on your posts."

I got mine from AlternaTicker, I think if you click my signature, it takes you to that site. This to me was the easiest one to use, couldn't figure out the others. I did have another one before this one but never liked it and was so glad to be rid of it.

We're all in it together, at least you're one month ahead of most of us. Is your timeline filled in? Didn't check...it's helpful to get the timelines filled in.

All the very best to you! My fiance is American but he loves Chinese and is fluent in it. He would like me to try and learn Chinese and I did learn some basics so I can totally relate to how hard Russian can be. I had a Russian classmate in my Chinese class and the only thing equally confusing was see her write in Russian

Russian is really impossibly difficult! I tried studying it in college, thinking that perhaps I'd have some advantage given that my grandmother's parents were Ukrainian, and NO. So complicated. Luganda's not that easy, either, though: I made a brief attempt last year sometime, and have been on a break ever since. There really aren't any materials to help with learning it, so all I had was a CD with some words and phrases, so I didn't really understand how it worked at all.

For a ticker, just go to one of the websites that offers them (I used http://alterna-tickers.com), choose the image you want, enter the date that you're tracking, and then in the end, copy the text that it generates (it will say that it's for a signature) into your signature here.

to quote my dad when I used to complain about how difficult it was to learn English - "there are millions who speak Eng. Do you consider yourself less talented???" of course, he was half joking but somehow it used to make me go back to my studies.. LOL

right now I am working on my Spanish trying to catch up with my Darling who is fluent in 4 languages!!

Ok guys, I need some motivation and encouragement please :( Going through a lot of stuff rite now ...

Do u think the majority of Feb filers will get approved by May? What do u think?

I think as much as I'd like to say, yes, it will happen, I'm preparing for mid to late June.

My birthday is in early May and man would that be a great present, (F) but emotionally, I need to think June.

I'm an actress and a producer so I'm dumping all my energy into saving money, creating, building my company, hobbies etc.

Put your energy where it can be the most productive. You can't make the process go faster, but you can find a better you, work on something you love, or create.

Thank u for the adivce :) And I am truly jealous of everybody who is able to work and keep themselves busy during this process. It's the best thing u could possibly do. Unfortunately I don't have the energy anymore but I guess there will be better times. Just gotta think positive... I hope and pray for everyone that their petition will get approved asap.

 I strongly agree with your sentiments. While it would be nice to be processed quickly, we just can't count on it happening for sure. I am personally preparing myself for an approval as late as July so that I am not disappointed so for me, anything earlier than July will be a really pleasant surprise and something I will consider a wedding gift from God. However, in the event, I have to wait it out till July, I won't be too crushed either. It's hard for all of us to be patient but I even just read an account of a couple that hasn't see each other for 1 year, they were doing the spousal visa and it's actually taken them a year to get to where her husband can go to the US. I don't think it will be that long for any of us on this journey so let's hang in there.

As for the OP, if you need to talk about the things you are going through, if that can help at all, then feel free to PM me or if you feel comfortable enough to just post about it, VJ has actually been known to be a good source of support in many different ways. Either way, hang in there, it will be alright in the end :)

Regarding whether we'll be approved by May:

On Feb. 24, I told Aaron in an email about the 15 most recent VSC approvals:

"1 was submitted at the end of July, 3 were in August, 1 in September, 7 in October, and 3 in November."

The 15 most recent VSC approvals TODAY are:

October: 4

November: 4

December: 7

I don't have comparative data for CSC, but clearly progress is being made, albeit slowly. I'm guessing that in another 6 weeks, they'll be through with the Decembers, working hard on the Januarys, and dipping into the Februarys from time to time. So, some of us could get lucky, but on average it will probably end up being June or July for the most part.

So clearly, CSC is largely working on November filers at the moment. I will be very impressed if in the next 6 weeks they will have completed November and December since as I have said before, CSC seems to have had quite a hike in petitions filed those months. Still, I am very open to being pleasantly surprised.

I agree with previous posts that setting your mind on early approval is no good. Once approved it is approved and not a second earlier. Until then, it's waiting and waiting.

What can be a better encouragement than that in the end of this long and painful journey there will be a life with your Love? Just hang in there and it'll all be alright. What's not killing us that makes us stronger, right?
