Nah, you can call anytime! They won't necessarily have any information to give you, but it doesn't hurt to try. The VSC petitions seem to be showing up at NVC 7-10 days after NOA2 right now. Our NOA2 was August 9, and the petition was in the NVC system starting on August 17.

Ok...I have a question about the I-134 Affidavit of Support. I might just be being incredibly stupid here!!! In the step-by-step instructions (http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide) Number 5 in the What to send your fiance...box states: "Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form."

Now forgive me if i'm being blind but we see no Section II or list of 4 options?!?!?! What is it asking for?

I think those instructions are out of date, and what they are referring to is question 7, which allows you to list monetary amounts in 5 categories (employment income, savings, stocks and bonds, life insurance, and real estate). However, I don't know about any requirement for a minimum number of categories to include. The USCIS I-134 instructions (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134instr.pdf) say:

"Evidence should consist of copies of any of the documents below that applies to your situation." If that particular category doesn't apply to your situation, then it seems that you wouldn't need to include it.

I've been having this conversation with folks in the Nairobi embassy thread. Others were talking about including letters from banks, and I asked whether I needed to do that if I am not listing any assets on the I-134, given that I have more than enough income to meet the requirements. I'm not including any evidence of stocks/bonds, real estate, or life insurance, either, so it doesn't make sense that it would matter how many categories you include: just that there is a sufficient amount to meet the poverty line requirements. At least I hope that's a correct interpretation.

To substantiate the information regarding income and resources the sponsor should attached two or more of the following items to the affidavit.

• notarized copies of his or her latest federal income tax return;
• a statement from his or her employer showing salary and the length and permanency of employment;
• a statement from an officer of a bank regarding his or her account, the date the account was opened and the present balance;
• any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undertaking toward the applicant for what might be an indefinite period of time.

I don't believe they need to be notarized. I'd check with Nick-Nich on the London forum. I've sent Julian:

1. Letter from employer

2. Tax Transcripts from the 3 years (though London apparently only needs last years)

3. Paystubs, 2-3 most recent

If you are above poverty level, you should be good to go with these items

I've seen nothing so far on the last 10 petitions (including mine) that are yet to be adjudicated. I'm tracking 2/7.

The thought of hitting another weekend without an approval or at least an RFE is heartbreaking.

I agree with Mary. They don't have to be notarized. However, if you order your tax transcripts from the last three years, that should be able to replace the W-2/1099.

I've seen people on VJ refer to 3 months of paystubs, so I'm thinking I'll bring more than 2-3, just to be safe. No trouble to print them: that'll only be 6 sheets of paper.
