I've looked at those forms a time or two - but again, probably not at all since May. Do you know your LDN number and, if you do, can you book a medical any time from now?

I'm due back in school on Sept 4th (and yes, it looks like I'll have to go ) and I'm half expecting everything to start happening all at once so I'd like to be as prepared as I can before that.

You can phone them to see if they've assigned a case number, if they have ask to see if they've sent it out. If they've sent it, then it's the DHL trick to track the delivery.

No probs I have our LDN number, but I read something that said it's best not to arrange the medical until you know the embassy has received the packet from NVC, to avoid confusion? So I've been holding off until I know that. - However, I'm tempted to just call up and see about booking it.

Yes, you should call the NVC probably around Thursday to see if they have received your petition and if it has been forwarded to London. Their number is (603) 334-0700. You'll need the receipt number from your NOA1 for them to look it up. If it has been forwarded to London, find out when so you can track it via DHL. They should also give you an LND number if it has been sent to the embassy.

Yes, these are correct. You'll need duplicates of forms DS=156 and DS-157. And you only need to complete DS-230 part I (Part II isn't needed at all). You'll need to send in the DS-2001 when you're absolutely ready for the interview.

The first 2 times I called, they didn't check any information at all, but merely asked for my receipt/case # (and then told me there was no record of it and to wait until 15 business days past approval to call back). When I called the third time, they asked me to verify my and Aaron's names and birthdates, and then asked whether I was the petitioner, so it sounded as though either party could call to check the status as long as you have the necessary information.

I read something that said they couldn't, but I was going to call anyway if Heather couldn't. As it was Heather could call each day. There's no harm in trying They have late hours of work, up to midnight I think.

That would be brilliant if you walked through immigration in chaps and spurs. Perhaps all of the February filer beneficiaries should do that as a sign of solidarity

You can try calling the NVC on Friday, it doesn't hurt to do that. Your case just might not be there yet.
