I feel like I've been reading about AP in NVC stage. I'm just not sure what the difference is between "additional" and "administrative" in this case... I think someone in the January thread had one of these two options too... maybe ask around there and see if anyone knows more?

So, just when you think you might actually be able to slightly predict something, anything(!) about this whole messed-up timeline....

Our case is apparently now in "additional processing" at NVC. There don't seem to be any recent threads about it, but according to the old ones, this could be bad. Like, months longer.

And of course, there's absolutely no way at all to know why, or what exactly is going on. How on earth did I not realize this was a possibility? For some reason, I only registered the major hangups in this circus as being VSC and the embassy. But hey, there's always room for one massive snafu when you're dealing with immigration, right?

Wow, feeling sorry for you. Worrying about ours now, NVC still haven't got ours!

CSC is apparently working on February 16 petitions while VSC is apparently working on January 16 petitions...

I wouldnt worry about it Joy I have read that additional processing could mean that their are scanning your docs before sending them to the embassy. Hopefully this is whats happening with you. Have your tried calling the Department of State they could see the NVC system as well.

I got approved on the 6th and NVC received my paperwork 2 days ago. I believe they should have your paperwork by Wed next week the latest.

At least it made it to NVC: I'm sure my petition is as happy as I am to have nothing to do with Vermont ever, EVER again.

Gavin + Heather, I'm sure yours will get there soon! I was so excited at first, when instead of lecturing me about not waiting 15 business days before calling, the woman started verifying our names, birth dates, etc. It was *almost* a good call!

Yes, that's exactly what I'm going through right now! Maybe it's catastrophizing, but somehow it's comforting to prepare for the worst. Oh, well: no more wedding arrangements (even tentative) until I get a better sense of what this AP thing may entail.

Hi, no movement on the batch that I'm looking at for 2/14 yet today.

Are you guys going by receipt date or date sent on the I-797? My receipt is 2/14, sent is 2/16. Also in a lot of signatures, I see the term "touched" what does that mean?

Regardless sent some letters off today: threw in all the darn work I've done for the government for basically free from being a peace corps volunteer to interning at an embassy; maybe that will catch someone's eyes?

Although, in a post script, I made a few quite relevant snipes in my congressman's letter about his policies; still not quite at the stage where I'm willing to forgo my morals for (hopefully) just an extra week or two on this visa -- a good sign?? a bad sign?

I just think the operators havent received the prints of the new scripts they gotta read when theyre asked questions.

I actually read in the March topic that someone just got told VSC is working on Feb now appparently. Which prolly means theyre starting to get into the March people

We were also told that our case is under AP in NVC stage, but they sent the case the day after that to the embassy

Because of being under AP at NVC, I searched the entire VJ and asked several members about it and I was almost going to kill myself! But the result was that AP at NVC is COMPLETELY different from the AP that you may get at the embassy level. Apparently, the AP at NVC is just some additional work. You know, like they have to move your case to the room down the hall instead of the next room I think everyone would agree with me that this is SO MUCH additional work anyhow, there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to worry about this. I bet they will send your case out early next week
