Okay, here's some bit of encouragement for us February filers. I did a timeline search to see data on February 2011 filers. Since the search is only limited to 100 entries, I got results based on 100 entries. According to that data, the average time for K1 filers with February NOA1 dates between NOA1 and NOA2 was 98 days :) Now, I'm not saying that is the Gospel truth and that is what will definitely happen for us guys but it is interesting to see such data from just a year ago. The year before that had the average number of days at 40-something but that is 2 years ago and is a lot less relevant. The average for my country (Kenya) was 141 days though but then again, there was only 1 applicant from Kenya recorded in February on listed results so it may or may not mean anything.

In any event, hope this cheers you up a little bit, we might in fact as others have suggested be fortunate enough to enjoy short wait times. We can at least pray that last year's pattern carry forward to this year.

You're welcome! Sadly, I realized that figure changes for different service centers. The data I posted was specifically about CSC. The average was 118 days for TSC and 127 days for VSC but again that was last year, I feel like VSC for sure is currently way faster than CSC and way more likely to process petitions in 98 days than CSC. That said, there is every reason for all of us to be hopeful and that is what we should all be :) The average when all service centers are combined is 113 days.

I don't know what we will do showing evidence of wedding. It'll be just the two of us, very simple. I want a real simple dress and to save money I wan't to buy it when I get there. We will either be going to court or travel to a different city, but we can't really book anything before we know when we will get there.... No cake, noe venue, no invitations....

Any suggestions??

if you are getting the dress for your wedding, chances are that you will want to take few pictures. Might it work for you that you contact a photographer and discuss your situation (unknown dates and stuff) with him/her? And then show the correspondence to the officer? They are human beings after all.. they've got to understand that not everyone's dreaming about a grandeur event. Also, if you are thinking about getting wedding bands, receipt can also serve as a proof of your intentions... Also, I think that presentation of ideas is the key here. Why wouldn't they accept "court house registration" answer if that's delivered with confidence?

Oooh, another AlternaTicker fan! I really like their designs.

I'm now in this kind of frightening phase where all of this waiting seems completely normal and routine, and feels like it has been going on forever and will never end. It just doesn't seem real anymore that there's something different coming up at some point. I guess it is a little better than the active frustration/impatience, but it's strange, too. Anyone else?

Welcome! Don't feel bad or we will all have to feel bad lol. Guess it's human nature, I had said earlier on that it's very odd to me, when I see other people being approved in even 140 days, I say, that's not too bad, yet even a regular 5 month wait seems so awful to me. One day at a time and we will make it!

LOL...yes, it's called ACCEPTANCE, a much better alternative to I'm-losing-my-mind-from-every-single-second-worth of waiting. Still feel hugely jealous anytime I hear of one of those quick approvals but other than that I'm much better. And as I've said, really does help to know of others on the same journey. It was really tough for me just to readjust to not being my fiance but time helps us I guess to begin to see that fighting the reality of unavoidable separation will not in fact make the time go faster. Trying to make the most of my time with my family here too. Will be different when it takes a plane ticket to see them.

On another note, I have to say I get so sad whenever I read one of those sad tales about relationships that didn't work out. It really makes me glad that I got 7 and a half months living in the same city with my fiance. For better and for worse, we both really know each other really well and have opted to stand by each other in this thing called life. I felt especially bad for a girl from I forget which country who came and got kicked out by her fiance and of course never having married him, has no recourse of action except to go back home. It seems grossly unfair to me and yet that is just a risk that comes with this process...and sometimes that risk hurts the petitioner and sometimes it hurts the beneficiary and I guess there is nothing that can be done to mitigate those risks. I just feel so sorry for anyone for whom this process actually ends up bringing misery after all of this waiting and all of this paperwork, just sad.

Anyway, don't mean to dampen anyone's spirit, just wishing everyone the very best in this process and more so thereafter.
