What in the world are they reviewing?

This is how I picture their typical work day:

Imagine a fat person reviewing your paperwork...

He goes.. Let me make sure the picture hasn't been modified and dated. Uhmm background check.. (typing one finger at a time). Oops, you forgot to check this box.. RFE. Next case. uh oh, your passport pic is 0.04 inch off.. RFE. Next case. Filed in Feb 2012? hmm.. let me finish my unhealthy lunch. oops 3 oclock time to go home...

I had contacted my senator who contacted VSC.

Senator got a reply from VSC that says something like this:

"Application was received on Feb 7, and as per the USCIS website this application is outside processing time. However, due to other workload priorities, this application is still considered to be well within the normal processing time. Please contact us again after 30-60 days"

"Workload priorities". Eat doughnuts and don't do what you are supposed to.

VSC needs to be closed or relocated

Erm...closing or relocating would not be good, all cases would be put on hold or passed on to other service centres while they did that. VSC is slow, but have you seen TSC's 'average' time? I feel sorry for anyone there.

Yeah and though I'm happy for them, they are also way after my date. That's when it really sucks, when you start seeing folks after you get approved. Tomorrow AM I'm on the phone and calling USCIS. They better be prepared because I'll be calling every dang day until I get approved.

He's from England, I'm from US. It's not rocket science nor are background checks an excuse.

Of the 50 petitions I'm tracking, only half have had any movement. That's just not good enough in my book.

I'm with you Mary, it's hard to see later petitions approved and I had similar thoughts with ours. I saw a post that joked that England could become the 51st state, the point being how allied/close the countries are, how can there be much to look into.

So, even though Igor's List was only showing 2 approvals today, here is what I could see. Some of these may have been in a previous update: sorry.

Feb. 2: 1 approval, 2 RFEs yesterday / 1 RFE today

Feb. 7: 2 approvals, 3 RFEs yesterday / 1 approval today

Feb. 8: 3 approvals yesterday / 2 approvals, 2 RFEs today

Feb. 13: 1 approval today

Feb. 14: 1 approval today

Here's where it gets weird. It looks like they tripped over a box of Feb. 21 petitions and thought, what the heck, let's look at these.

Feb. 21: 5 approvals yesterday / 20 approvals today

I am so bewildered.

Especially since one of them was ours. I was really not expecting this at all, because we were so very, very, very far from being "next in line." I feel bad being happy. So mostly I am shocked and incredulous. But...yay?

Congratulations :-) I know the feeling, so happy, but thoughts for all the others still waiting.

Seriously, I'm thinking my idea of them wearing blindfolds is actually not far off the mark :-P

I really would like to get an approval before I leave london! At this rate, he might have to get a new police certificate because he got one last september when we were researching this process ( a tad early but what the heck) and now, if his interview is not in september, we'll have to get a new one which will delay the post NoA2 process.

Plus, we have to travel out of the US for christmas and September - Dec is NOT enough time for wedding, AOA, advance parole and general planning.

ITs starting to look like he wont be here till January. :-(

TSC does not process K1 petitions anymore (USCIS changed the process in 2010), only VSC and CSC do.

On another note, I wish all of you February filers good luck; hopefully we'll see some more approvals out of VSC soon! Me and my fiancé have just passed the five months mark and are hoping for news within the next one or two months.
