one of my friends on here got approved already from CSC.....Not an expedited case either.

Oh, gosh, I see that! Wow. They really don't have any rhyme or reason there, do they? That case is surrounded by approvals from September, October, and November. Makes no sense at ALL.

I thought that guy said his was done quickly because he made an expedite request. I was curious too and someone finally asked him and he said he had his case expedited on grounds of financial hardship. Everyone was curious about how he got that approved but I didn't see any response for him. This whole process means financial hardship lol, I think USCIS should process things quickly on grounds of that alone. I have thought about it and I think most people would rather pay more and be done with this process faster than to pay less and then have to go through all this. It is very much worthwhile to pay more just so you can move on with your life already :) Anyway, let's all hang in there!

Bumpity bump bump bumpity bump bump!

KEEP FEBRUARY STRONG!!

And to a quick approval for all of us..Timeline info says CSC passed up VSC today :D

Yeah, I noticed that! But looking at the graphs, it appears that there's barely a dent in the November petitions at CSC, while VSC has has around 60% finished already. I'm wondering if the timeline discrepancy has something to do with the freak January and February approvals at CSC throwing off the data? Not that it would matter if they would just go ahead and approve all of us, like, tomorrow.

Hang in there!

I'm not looking at my timeline again today...it jumped back a month. Was end of June/early July to end of July/mid August for NOA2 now. I know it's just an estimate but omg it's frustrating seeing that!

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

Initially filed for K1 visa - Feb 23 2012

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've abandoned this application

We married on Aug 24, 2013 in a small ceremony in MA

We'll be applying for a CR1 / IR1 visa as soon as we are able

Watch this space for updates!

Tomorrow works for me! Who needs to look at these petitions anyway...When you look at the timelines and estimates I think we have something like 5% of the population of filers that are on this website.. so it isn't too much of an indication. But It does do a lot for the people who worry (like me) to put some of that stress at ease.

Yeah, also doesn't make sense to me how CSC supposedly overtook VSC when they are clearly way behind but as you say, probably just the few quick petitions are messing with the stats.

Yeah, I keep having to update my info below because the estimated date changes like everyday! In a few instances, it becomes shorter by a day but mostly it keeps moving forward. Let's hang in there, I hope we all get done in 5 months or less. Crazy, when it's other people and you read things like 147 days, you're like, oh, that was reasonably fast...but when you look at your own ticker...you're just like, wow, I have to wake up 147 times to this ticker at the very least? :(:crying::angry: At least we're going through this together. I for one have opted to try and spend my evenings brushing up on my French and maybe learning a bit of Spanish...so many online resources these days..and sure beats hugging my blankets being miserable without my baby.

Very well put! Waking up, um, 33 or so times to my ticker is more than enough already, so the people who go 180 or more are...well, just like us and didn't have a choice about it.

I'm trying to avoid looking at the estimated date. There's no reason it should have crept forward a month since I sent in my petition, and with all of the people not updating or listing their petitions as being submitted to a service center that doesn't process them (Texas) or the wrong one or none at all, I'm not putting a whole lot of stock in those dates. It's not like anything magical will happen when that date comes, anyway. We're all just going to sit around obsessively checking our phones/email for the foreseeable future regardless.

Good idea working on your language skills! I'm using my spare evenings trying to put away some extra money, myself (online work), which is nicely distracting. Helps me resist the urge to blow an imprudent amount of money and vacation time to run over there and see him.

We will make it together. Honestly makes a huge difference knowing there are so many others going through this same process. I wish I could get to doing online work too but always seems like such jobs are mostly open to American residents but really good you can do that and way smarter than traveling on an emotional binge. I'm really excited about my language studies and expect the time to go by much faster now. The very best to you and yours!

Yeah, most of the online options seem to have some sort of weird catch for non-US folks. I'm using Amazon's Mechanical Turk, which is pretty decent money, but if you're outside the US you can only earn Amazon credit, not cash, which is not that helpful.

Hey everyone,

Haven't been here in a long time...I just read the situation with afoyoswa's friend and i am officially worried again....This is too stressful because this nairobi embassy has more denials than approvals and it scares me so much...For a while now, I have kind of let my mind wander to get my mind off of how it is painfully hard to go through the Nairobi embassy..

I am so sorry that your friend got denied afoyoswa but the best thing we can do right now is pray and hope for the best and the Lord will see us through but it is really scary stuff...Since i knew we had to file for a Visa, I have been keeping all the paper work which i hope will strengthen our case because i have money transfer slips...parcel slips and anything i can find which i hope can make our case easier...

I think that CO should be moved because she is killig so many people's dreams and happiness and I believe only God has that Power to do that...not a human being. My prayer is that for the rest of us who are left here, when we do have our interviews, she is out on leave or she got transferred to some other department or something...

Everytime i see a denial, my heart drops so low and I cannot imagine anyone being in that situation. It is so sad being denied a chance at happiness and yet everyone deserves to be happy. This is not easy when your baby is far away and you miss him/ her and yet you even have to worry that you might have a wait and even longer time to see them...May the good Lord see us through this trying time and deliver us victoriously to where we hope and want to be in the near future at the side of our loved ones..Amen and Amen.

The other thing is how do i get a ticker on my profile, can someone help me out and give me a link or show me how to do it?? Will really appreciate it. God bless all of us and lead us on this hard and painful journey...We all need a bit of encouragement and I leave you with Jeremiah 29:11...will give you strength when your reserves are low..Hang in there everyone. Help is on its way...

Timeline

 Amen and Amen! Yeah, we really have to trust in God to see us through all of this and yes, I do believe that God is able to even shield us from people like that CO who would interfere with what God wills for us. I got a tourist visa from the American embassy in Kenya last year and honestly, I think it just depends on who you end up having interview you. It was so easy for me to get a tourist visa though there was a real chance of denial because I was going to travel with my son and they heavily frown when they see a single mother supposedly visiting the US on a tourist visa, to them, it looks like immigration. But God was faithful and gave me great favor before the CO and in a few short minutes, my visa was approved. Felt like I had just gone to have a nice chat with a friend, very painless. Let's pray for smooth interviews like this one and I do know it is possible for things to go so well that we end up wondering if it's all really that easy. Thanks for your encouragement.

Took me a long time to figure out how to do my ticker and now I can't remember how I did it, hope someone here can help :-)
