Yay! Where in Florida? My fiance is in the St. Pete area.

Reading some of the time differences between you guys and your fiance(e)s makes me feel incredibly fortunate that we're in the same timezone! And, that I'm lucky enough to be able to hop in a van for 24 hours, and drive to see him next week! (Though after this, I probably won't get to see him until at least June or July because work is getting SUPER busy as of April... we just happen to have a really slow March, so my boss told me she's happy to let me go for a week)

And also, when my fiance received the NOA1 hardcopy,

it was dated Feb. 20, 2012 and they misspelled my name,

my fiance called them immediately to correct it

and they said to wait for 15 days to mail the corrected version,

so do we still have the same NOA1 date?

Yes the NOA1 date will be the same, they will just correct your misspelled name. I know there are a lot of questions, but feel free to ask!!

I got denied at the embassy too. I did not know my alien # until I was refused entry and was written in my passport, but apparently you're assigned one the first time you deal with immigration and denied (I guess it's something to do with keeping track of aliens with possible red flags?). I enquired about it while I was waiting for my flight back. I had two awesome CBP officers ghosting me for several hours waiting for my flight home. One of them actually got her fiancé in on a K1 visa as well! Strangely enough she did not qualify for the "met within last 2 years" and had to petition. Good to know even CBP can't cut the queue. She encouraged me to try for K1 with my partner. Anyway I am getting off track.

In short.. don't worry about it! They will link it back for you when doing the background check.

Thank you very much. This was a relief. I have heard many times that a tourist visa denial is not a big issue when applying for a k1. So we keep 'em crossed :))

bump...

I got bored so I made some tickers...haha.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and have a great weekend.

BTW, i got good advice from my cousin. He told me to tell my fiancee to get school transcripts (check if units and degrees are transferable) and recommendations from bosses since she is waiting and can get it while she's there. This way she is prepared to apply for jobs or go back to school when she arrives in the country (of course after she gets the AOS, EAD, AP).

Anyway, I think I know what I want for my birthday this year. I want a NOA2 approval :) My birthday is coming up on June 20 and according to my timeline, I should hear something between July 8 to July 12. so why not a little bit earlier. hehe.

Heh my birthday is July 11 and I fall into the same timeline as you. I've been saying that it's what I want for my birthday too :)
