Anybody else up and watching Whitney Houston's funeral streaming live right now? The service started in NJ 35 minutes ago. Kevin Costner, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Clive Davis are all part of the service. They allowed one camera in there to show the service.

The best stream I've found is on Yahoo. It's just the funeral service and no news anchor commentary.

Personally I could care less. I have friends who are war veterans trying to live with ripped off limbs and horrible disfigurements. They struggle every day to stay LIVING despite the pain they suffer. I have no respect for some spoiled millionaire that decides to commit slow suicide. It doesnt take courage to kill yourself, it takes courage to keep living.

The funeral is just turning into a circus. Not one of these people raised one finger to halt her drug use, but now everyone wants to show up at the funeral and "be seen" so they can brag to their friends of how they attended and how they "love her". Pathetic!

Personally I don't see what war veterans have to do with this and I don't understand why anyone would compare it to this. I have to say the funeral service is very classy and personal. I think the family made the right choice in not making it a media circus.

I tuned in earlier just by accident, and noticed Jessie Jackson sitting prominently by the podium. The joke about him is, when a certain number of cameras is present, no matter what the occasion or how relevant he is to the matter, he magically appears. Then I noticed, there wasn't a white face to be seen anywhere, so I didn't feel invited. A big Yaaawn for sure.

It's so weird how celebrities are idolized in death, even though they were scandalous, selfish, and even prurient in life. For me, Whitney's best days passed with the 80's, but I will give her the award as Best National Anthem singer ever, in the 1991 SuperBowl.

Peace.

It's because of the their fans in life and after death love them and cherish them for what they meant to them. Celebrities have the opportunity to touch many people's lives and have an impact. Some live long after death such as Elvis and Marilyn Monroe for people who never even knew them when they were alive. One thing about her is she could really sing. She had a true talent in a world where many people pass today as celebrity and they can't honestly sing as well as they can perform with dance, and flash, some good beats and so forth. Whitney didn't need any of that because she had been given the gift of a pure strong voice, natural beauty, grace and poise. What God gave her as her natural essence was clear as a human being. Never mind how the line is blurred between professional life and personal life or how they lived their life at one point or how someone has died. In context it was not easy to be one of the greatest young super stars in the 80's with public scrutiny and temptation abound. She was human after all coming from a humble start.

Aretha Franklin couldn't make it due to health reasons but the guy who spoke instead of her had powerful words.

He said, " We have to give our entertainers love and dignity instead of ridicule because they give their lives to us. They are not spending it with their families. They are on the road in and out of places performing to give us a little entertainment and give our lives comfort just to make our days and nights a little smoother."

Now Stevie Wonder is playing.

Thats whats sad. Not picking on you personally, but the problem being those that can't understand the difference between spoiled celebrities that waste their God given talent; and those heroes that display true character, sacrifice, and receive nothing in return. Wonder (no pun intended) when was the last time that Oprah or Jesse Jackson visited a veteran's hospital or attended a soldiers funeral? Get the point? All these celebrities are just showing up at this funeral for their own self-serving intentions, with their entourage and personal agents in tow.

Just think of the thousands of poor or sick people that Whitney could have helped with the millions of $$$ she wasted on drugs and excess?? Good Riddance as far as I'm concerned.

I hope she was at least an organ donor so at least someone could benefit from this circus.

I'm sorry for her family. I'm definitely sorry for her daughter. She was a talented artist....but she ruined her God given talent by abusing herself. I had no interest in watching what, in my opinion, is a very private occasion for her family.

Throw the dirt in the hole! Worms gotta eat too!! Maybe she can explain to God now why she wasted all that talent and money on drugs instead of helping others.

Now the REAL Circus will begin. All of her "loving" family and friends will circle like vultures for the meaining bits of cash and jewelry
