Today I got a call from immigration in boston asking for my husband. I said he was working and he asked me if i was his wife. Long story short he said he needed to see me and my husband tomorrow to see if our marriage was valid. I said no problem. I asked if this was random?. He said no it wasnt but if we show proof of marriage then "investigation will be dropped". I have no problem with this at all. My husband got in a conversation with this girl he has known for years now and she threatened she would call immigration to start trouble. I feel that this is the cause. I feel it is like a call to department of social services of child abuse because someone wants to start trouble. Is it possible for someone with a grudge to just call ins and have someone investigated that easily? I think this girl is jealous because my husband married me.btw, I asked if this was the aos interview. he said no , but we need to do this before the case can go further.

Yeah, I believe they can. In fact, they are obligated to investigate any suspected fraud. But, as long as you are legitimate, don't worry. It will all work out. Just be prepared to respond to whatever accusations you think may have been made. Sometimes it seems like the "innocent until proven guilty" concept does not apply here. It up to each of US to prove our relationships are "true", NOT up to them to prove they are "false".

Good luck to you!!!

It sounds very much like someone trying to stir up trouble. Yes the INS can call you in to clear this up, treat it like a AOS interview and bring some evidence of relationship, marriage certificate and photos should do.

I think that if they see the two of you show up when called that they will drop the investigation.

Good luck.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Personally if that happened to me I would be rather worried and urgently consult an Immigration Attorny and ask the lawyer to attend the meeting with you.

I have heard cases where immigration have called and asked the immigrant to attend a "meeting'. Only to be welcomed by ICE.

Immigration Attorny is the way forward. Make sure you know your rights before attending.

This is a past g/f on the internet who found out he got married and is living in the united states. She threatened him she was gonna start trouble for him. I guess she did. There is nothing she can say he has done wrong he just put her on the shelf. We have all the documents and bank accounts everything. There is nothing ins can do to dissprove our marriage. I just think its shady someone with a grudge can cause trouble so easy. Im not going to get a lawyer to go with us because the guy just said bring in the documents and marriage certificate and everything will be dropped. Thanks for the responses.

Went to the interview today and it was stressfull. We got there and the 2 guys called my husband in alone. I was sooo mad lol. but anyway he came out and then called me in and asked me a bunch of questions about our relationship. He told me he had 2 other interviews this week and its only wednesday and the 2 he had turned out to be a fraud. But after the interview he said to me i believe this is a real marriage and im happy for u, congratulations. I said than you. His biggest question was if my husband sent me any money western union from morocco and I told him no i was the one who sent him money lol. He said he was going to check the computers to make sure and if it comes out clean then everything is all done and we will get interview for adjustment of status in the mail soon. He said because we had this interview then the aos will be easy b/c they accept their decisions. Not a woprd was brought up to either of us about the girl. So im still not sure if that was the reason. but i guess it doesnt matter now. He knew we were telling the truth because he said i have truthfull face lol. Im sure they are trained very well. Thanks for all your comments and support. I love knowing this site is here when i need it. Good luck to all of u and ill write when i get interview letter. Thanks agaion
