Hey guys, me again!

So, Ive been doing some research and I seem to be getting completely conflicting information. It is regarding leaving empty boxes on all of the forms Im filling out.

So for example, I don't have a middle name, and on all my forms, I have just been leaving the box blank. Looking at various sources though, a lot are saying that no box should be left blank and something should be entered?

Also, say for example any questions asking you about former husband and wives. I have just been putting none in the first block, and leaving all the other boxes for date of birth, city and country, date and place of marriage, and the like completely blank. But once again, I have seen other sources filling out all the other boxes with N/A

Is there a general consensus on whether all of the boxes should be filled in with something, or can I just leave them blank as I have been?

Thanks again!

By placing a N/A in each box, there is no doubt you did not overlook the question.

Hey Pink Melody,

However, did you put N/A in every single box available? Or did you just put N/A in the first?

Sometimes there are questions with sub-questions related to it. For instance, if they ask about a previous marriage, and you put N/A, you don't need to also put N/a for "date of marriage" or "date of divorce" or whatever. Just put N/A in the first box and blank for subsequent related questions. It's not mysterious or arbitrary, make sure you answer each question. If you answer No for say, 17, then 17a and 17b don't need answers about what you said "No" for. Make sure you do answer every question though.

For the middle name try a line "---------".

Thanks Harpa,

Thats exactly the information I was looking for. Just needed some clarification. Every question is definitely answered, I just didn't want to go in filling every last little box with N/A just for the sake of it, I couldn't really see how that would be of any benefit!

Dewave: I think some people advise that because some applicants don't understand how to fill out forms, and can't differentiate between different questions. It is a "safer" method for someone who is prone to make mistakes, and it's not wrong, but it's also not required. But, if you can understand how to fill out a form, you don't need to do anything spectacular - just fill out the form. Make sense?

For instance, I just saw a post of someone who forgot to fill in "County, City and State" on their petition.. I mean, really?
