That's like comparing cops and criminals and arguing that criminals should be allowed to carry weapons and kill cops because cops kill criminals.

Which one are the cops? The side that is in violation of how many UN resolutions? The same side that tried to sell 20 "special devices" to the Apartheid South African Government?

Those UN resolutions are for peeps with selective memory that just happened to back the Palistinian cause lately for the fact they see it as politically correct.

The Arab countries didn't want anything to do with those UN resolutions including the PLO who didn't agree to Israel being a legit country until 1993. The Arabs attacked Israel in 1948, 1967, and were getting ready to attack in 1973 when Israeli intelligence got the jump on them and Israel took the offensive.

Read up on how the Arabs respected the so called "UN resolutions". They didn't until they discovered they couldn't defeat Israel by military force.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The same force that invaded Lebanon and couldn't even dislodge the Syrian force in that country? The same force that eventually had to withdraw because of the casualties they were incurring. The Syrians were still in Lebanon the whole time. If I remember reading right it was called, "the great shame" and even, "The Catastrophe."

Israel marched into Beirut in 1982 and cleaned house. Prior to that in 1973 the IDF was within site of Damascus when they were called back. Do you really think Syria could defeat Israel? I mean lets get real here. Israel has whooped them like a red headed step child each and every time.

Even when the Syrian army was present in Lebanon, the Israeli air force still had their way and bombed whoever and whatever they chose to bomb.

Syria never left Lebanon the whole time Israel was there. Israel tried to defeat them but couldn't. They never even tried to take Damascus or even enter Syria. Israel did lay a siege and even probed the defenses of Beirut by sending in a few APC's into southern Beirut but would pull back to lessen their casualties. The Israel casualties caused an uproar back home that they started a withdraw and left Lebanon. Hardly a victory since one of the main goals besides to get the PLO out was to have Syria removed also. They failed at that.

I read a couple of books already and am on a new one on that war. Here is a Wiki to peruse.

Syria or one of their proxies is still operating in Lebanon to this day.

Why Me - regarding your post #108 in this thread:

The Arab League voted against UN General Assembly resolution 181 (the plan to partition Palestine) because it violated the rights of the majority of the population in Palestine - the same plan that was rejected by the UN Security Council for the same reason.

So 181 was dead in the water. Stillborn. Never implemented.

However, Israel is the subject of literally hundreds of UN Resolutions (which were actually passed by the UN Security Council) that "condemn," "censure," "deplore" and "declare invalid" Israel's aggression in Palestine and against neighboring countries. It's Israel that is in egregious violation of the overwhelming majority of UN resolutions mentioning it. I wonder why you didn't look this up in your favorite source - it even has a partial list of them:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_Nations_resolutions_concerning_Israel

As has already been discussed in this thread, Zionist leaders initiated the war of 1948 via attacks carried out by Zionist terror gangs and militias.

Your grasp of subsequent history is just as poor. Israel launched the war of 1967 as well when it launched a "Pearl Harbor-style" surprise attack on the Egyptian Air Force.

It was Egypt that launched the war of 1973 (not Israel) and it did so as a direct response to the war Israel started in 1967 - in order to regain the Sinai which Israel had occupied and begun to colonize.

With an argument like that, it's no wonder I don't buy car insurance from you.

That was a tragic crime committed by the Christian Phalange party if I'm not mistaken.

The IDF stood by an did NOTHING. The Kahan Report clearly stated that the IDF ignored the massacre even after they were well aware of the slaughter. They closed off the area and thus were indirectly culpable for what happened. That's an Israeli finding.

Not to mention that the IDF brought them to the camps and set up the perimeter so they would be safe to have their fun.

I just saw the post saying that you're reading this book. Funny, I just picked it up myself about a week ago, but I haven't started reading it yet. I'm currently reading the updated "More Bad News from Israel" by Glascow University Media Group members Greg Philo and Mike Berry. It's about how the media covers the conflict, the differences in the ways Israelis and Palestinians are represented, and how the biases in coverage affects the public's view of the Arab-Israel conflict.

I hope you'll check it out.
