You were already shown the figures of rockets fired during the months preceding Cast Lead, and a news clip of IDF spokesman Mark Regev himself admitting on camera that Israel broke the cease-fire.

Faced with that, what else can you do but continue to deny it ?

What's your point? You keep posting this stuff ad nauseum and that might be some form of catharsis but what is your point? Do you have any realistic way to resolve the issue? I don't, you probably don't but those of us who know a bit about such things can't think about it on a daily basis since whatever will happen, will happen; it's GOD's will.

I don't see it being resolved peacefully seeing how religion is involved. The Jews see Israel has their homeland including Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and the Arabs see it as Arab country for Muslims. There isn't a middle ground on this one between those two peoples. It's going to be all or nothing.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Let us know when you take a history class about the Middle East, or even read a single history book about Palestine.

Why? What difference would it make? He could learn all about the Umayyads with their decadence as evinced by places such as Qasr 'Amrah or the rise of the Abbasids or the Crusades or the Ottomans or the rest, but what would that do?

We've got to secular forces going at it. The subtext is religion but this is secular issue. Muslims and Jews both claim the same religious heritage and neither teaches killing people so what's up with all this #######? The answer goes like this, the average Jew has been persecuted in Europe forever. The Muslim, especially the average Arab has been demonizoned for a fair bit of time as well. Much of the exclusionary policies aimed against the Jews and other non-Christians were ensconced in the mindset of Jewish refugees. Arabs are dogs, I've heard the common refrain, subhuman scum, sound familiar? Europe wanted to get rid of its Jews, so they decided to ship them out to a place that the British didn't care about: Palestine. Now the natives welcomed the first wave of settlers but there are only so many they could accommodate and the later waves of settlers had been indoctrinated in the Pagan/fascist mindset of manifest destiny. This caused serious problems. The British exclusion act of 1905 for example, was designed to remove all the Jews from Great Britain. Many of these Jews made their way, through bribery to Palestine. What kind of person would bribe their way to a place: undesirables and criminals. Fast forward, after the Holocaust things really got out of hand. Europe just started dumping people in a land that couldn't support it. While Jerusalem or Al-Quds is considered holy, this is just one of those things were one victim of an injustice takes it out on another.

I was directly answering Why Me's Post #13 in this thread. (I used to quote him every time I respond to his statements, but it seems that posts now have a high risk of being deleted if they contain quotes from him.)

I do know more than a bit about the conflict, and I do think about it every day. But I've always pointed to international law as the basis for solving the conflict - U.N. 282 in particular (the so-called "2-state solution" based on the pre-1967 armistice lines) has been the basis of just about every peace initiative endorsed by the international community, the Arab League and the "Quartet," including the U.S.

Why Me is the one who brought up history classes - I was responding to his post (again, his posts and those of anybody who quotes him are frequently getting deleted, so I've stopped quoting him.)

The Crusaders were in Al-Quds from 1099 -1187, 188 years!!!!! They killed 55,000 Muslims, 11,000 Christians and 5,500 Jews just for good measure. Show me the Romans, or any of them, give it time!!!!! International Law based on Roman principles? Holy #######, what could go wrong?

The Brits weren't all for European Jews moving to Palestine. If you do your history you will see the Brits not only blockaded ships full of European Jews, but they arrested them at will for sneaking into the country. This was up until WW2, and they didn't relax their effort on European Jews entering Palestine until Zionist terrorist activities along with pressure from the World including the UN finally got to them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ze%27ev_Jabotinsky <---- Here's a man who saw the future in regards to Hitler, European Jews and the need to go back to Israel. If the Central and Eastern European Jews had only listened to this guy they wouldn't have suffered so much at the hands of the NAZI's.

UN 282 is all about blockading arms to South Africa. What it has to do with Jews and Arabs is beyond me.

Sorry for the typo - should have been UN 242 (not 282)

Yes and no, they kept vacillating in enforcement policy but that's neither here nor there.

So... how many missiles, tank shells & other deadly projectiles has Israel fired into Gaza during the same time period ? How many Israelis have been killed ? How many Palestinians have been killed ?

That's like comparing cops and criminals and arguing that criminals should be allowed to carry weapons and kill cops because cops kill criminals.
