AFP – 6 hrs ago

Palestinian militants fired two rockets at southern Israel on Friday evening, causing neither casualties or damage, an Israeli military spokeswoman told AFP.

"A rocket landed in the Eshkol Regional Council; there was no damage or injuries reported," she said.

Earlier in the evening, a rocket from Gaza hit an empty field south of the city Ashkelon, according to the Israeli army and police.

In a separate incident, an RPG anti-tank missile was launched at Israeli soldiers near the Gaza-Israel border, damaging the security fence nearby, the military said in a statement.

"Following the soldiers' arrival at the scene, an explosive device was detonated in the Gaza Strip. Israeli soldiers responded by using tank fire," the statement said.

On Thursday morning, six Palestinians were wounded when Israeli planes launched two raids in Gaza. The military said the raids were carried out after militants fired three rockets at southern Israel on Wednesday evening.

Since the beginning of the year, Palestinian militants have fired some 30 rockets at southern Israel, army statistics show.

Hamas has maintained a tacit truce with Israel, but other armed groups regularly fire rockets across the border, usually sparking retaliatory air strikes.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Seems like the only ones endangered by Palestinian rockets are Palestinians, I suppose there is a point here somewhere...

You fire 30 rockets into another country and see what happens. 30 rockets fired into Israel since Jan. 1st of this year.

SAVAGES!!!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Seems to me the IDF does the same thing. I stand corrected, the IDF rockets are guided.

Yes it is.

Perhaps you could persuade the Security Council and the Permanent Members that is indeed the case.

“It is a moment of truth, and my people are waiting to hear the answer of the world,” Mr. Abbas said in his speech. “Will it allow Israel to continue its occupation, the only occupation in the world?”

Mr. Netanyahu dismissed the Palestinian application as premature. “The Palestinians want a state without peace, and the truth is you should not let that happen,” he said, challenging a comment by Mr. Abbas that the Palestinians were armed “only with their hopes and dreams.”

“Hopes, dreams — and 10,000 missiles and Grad rockets supplied by Iran,” Mr. Netanyahu said. He repeatedly stressed Israel’s small size, saying it could not return to its 1967 borders because it needed strategic depth to defend itself, particularly from the threat of militant Islam.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the IDF only retaliates and not initiates. I can't think of a time reading about the IDF shooting missiles into Gaza other than when it's been in retaliation for Arab rocket attacks and then it's only by plane with guided missiles against terrorist and not random.

Which came first? The chicken or the egg? Who is to say who is retaliating for what? When you have your foot on somebody's throat and he resists, does that justify you stomping on his balls with your other foot?
