My hubby wants to be with me however, his schedule at work and my Bio Appt is complicated at the time given.

01-30-2012: Submitted AOS application thru USPS (Chicago Lockbox)
02-06-2012: Received Text/Email, application received by USCIS
02-10-2012: Received mail/hard copy of I-131 (NOA)
02-15-2012: Received mails/hard copies of I-765 & I-485 (NOAs) / Mail for Biometrics Appt.
03-06-2012: Biometrics Appointment done
03-14-2012: Received mail for Interview Appt on 16th April 2012.
04-04-2012: EAD/AP approved
04-12-2012: EAD/AP card received ;-)
04-16-2012: Interview day - Approved! (waiting for GC)
04-23-2012: Welcome Letter touched
05-03-2012: GC on hand!

It's totally fine to go alone. My husband came with me but he waited outside in the end, didn't wanna be stuck bored in a waiting room, lol. they don't require the USC to be there for biometrics, just your interview.

Finally time for AOS.......

12/07/11 Sent AOS package

12/09/11 AOS package delivered

12/14/11 Received NOA for I-485 and I-765 (we're not applying for AP)

12/22/11 Received letter for Biometrics

01/04/12 Biometrics in Phoenix

01/31/12 Received email update from USCIS saying that we've been scheduled for an interview

02/03/12 Got an email saying card production had been ordered for my EAD...now just to wait for the card...

02/09/12 Received email saying EAD card has been sent

02/13/12 Received EAD card :D :D :D :D

03/06/12 Interview in Phoenix :).....Approved :D

03/14/12 Received Green card in mail.....

....no more USCIS until December 2013

Its ok to go alone, it only took less than 10 mins for me to finish my biometrics. There were only a few people waiting where we went.

2-01-2011 > Mailed 129F

02-09-2011 > NOA1 email & SMS notification

02-12-2011 > NOA1 hardcopy received via mail (official date on NOA1 is 02-07-11)

05-17-2011 > NOA2 email & SMS notification (approved in 99 days from NOA1 date)

06-06-2011 > Got MNL case number

06-08-2011 > Paid Visa fee @ BPI bank (scheduled interview appointment online the same day)

06-13 & 14-2011 > 2-day medical exam

07-08-2011 > Received Letter of Eligibility

08-02-2011 > USEM Interview (rescheduled from July 18) - APPROVED!

08-11-2011 > Visa issued (accdg. to USEM email inquiry; 9 days from interview date)

08-15-2011 > 2go site showed Visa is already in transit

Biometrics is very fast. Took my wife about 5 minutes. Only one person ahead of her.

So quick then, and any thing they ask you to do besides taking the Biometrics?

One thing that i wasn't expecting at biometrics was on the form i had to fill out it asked me what my height was and how much i weigh, i haven't weighed or measured myself in years least of all not in American measurements so the guy at the desk just guessed my height and weight for me, lol.

Finally time for AOS.......

12/07/11 Sent AOS package

12/09/11 AOS package delivered

If you're up for an interview for AOS, USCIS will send you a notice with all the requirements you need to bring. Most of it are documents you already submitted, but we brought the originals of the copies we've sent. Don't forget to bring photos too. We also brought a 'duplicate' copy of the AOS packet we sent, just in case.

K-1 Timeline

2-01-2011 > Mailed 129F

02-09-2011 > NOA1 email & SMS notification

02-12-2011 > NOA1 hardcopy received via mail (official date on NOA1 is 02-07-11)

In my wife's case, it was a large room with seating in the front. They called her to come to the back and I could watch the whole thing. Take the fingerprints and a photo and it was over. It would take longer to drink a beer.
