My husband has been here 7 months (Wow; it's flown by!). We were K1, so he is only now able to look for a job. GC came in the mail yesterday! I read him your post and he said, "been there, done that, gotta have patience."

It's been a difficult and rewarding journey: in the last 9 months, I've moved back to the States with two suitcases to my name, bought a car, he's immigrated + met my family for the first time, I started a new (stressful!) job, he got a driver's license, we got married, we moved out of my parents' basement, he's visited some friends, my sister got married in a huge ceremony, we bought a second car... It's been insane, but beautiful and wonderful. Just know that things WILL get easier, it's a fine line between encouraging and pushing, and that he will be comfortable in his own time with things. Offer to support him with whatever he needs, but if getting a job is too much for him, it's too much. You two know that more than anyone else.

Good luck. It gets better-- at least it did for us!
