URGENT NEED INPUT INTERVIEW ON 2/22/12

I need some input. We never received notification from NVC regarding anything but last week both myself and my fiance in Nigeria had missed calls from the consulate in Lagos. When calling the number back neither of us received any help as to what the call was about (SO FRUSTRATING). It was only because my fiance was adamant that he finally found out that his interview is next Wednesday 2/22/12 since then he's taken care of his medicals and such. My question is regarding the visa fee that needs to be paid, since he is in Nigeria can this be paid in local currency or does it need to be paid in US dollars. If anyone can let me know ASAP I would greatly appreciate it....and I will let you all know the outcome of this AMAZING adventure

You can pay in either of the currencies ,I paid in dollars so that i dont get stucked in case the exchange rate is higher at the embassy but i saw some people,in fact many people paid in naira but at N165 per dollar(in January). The DV visa fees in now $440 per applicant

When did the fee change? Per the Interview Preparatory Packet downloaded it shows the visa fee is $350. Can you tell me where you received this info so that I can look it up. Thanks!

i think its still $350.. she prob assumed u are doin DV and said 440.. i cant see it but is ur timeline updated so pple can guide u better? u shld still email lagosIV department so u can get and print da interview letter to show dem

So the Visa for K1 is still $350 from what it sounds like. Does anyone know for sure if he can pay the fee in local currency??

The visa fee for K1 should only be paid in USD...good luck!!!

When I saw a new date added to the Nigerian portal interview schedules, I was wondering if it was from a new member...now I knw d story. I wish you all the best.

09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!

Okay my bad but what Visa fee are we talking about? I mean Petition Paid $420. IV Bill $320 and $88 for affidavit for support. So what theres another fee paid before or after interview?:blink:
