NOA1 timeline

Hi everyone,

I am at the very beginning of my fiancee visa journey. I sent in my NOA1 on 7th February. From what I have seen on here, it sounds like most people hear back after a week or so. Is this by email? I'm asking because I haven't heard anything yet. Or perhaps it just takes a short while to hear by email but much longer by snail mail. We consulted a lawyer (after having compiled our case using VJ's instructions) and he looked over everything and mailed them for us. I am not certain if he submitted the form that allows us to receive email notification, I will have to check with him if I don't see anything soon. We consulted a lawyer because both my fiance and I are not in our home countries at the moment (we're together in China). Anyway, I just wanted to know if it takes longer to receive a hard copy of the NOA2, I presume so. We are using a US address for all our correspondence and will know if anything is sent over there right away. Thanks!

The Noa2 will take months and months! The Noa1 should come pretty fast though. We also used a lawyer and our Noa1 was sent both to us and the lawyer. Call your lawyer and see if he heard anything or call the uscis

I guess you meant you sent in your I-129F package instead of NOA1, also. You should receive the hardcopy by mail to the US address, it's been 10 days for you, it should come soon if the package was sent to the right place (Texas lockbox). Sometimes it takes a few weeks for some people, don't know why...

I guess you meant you sent in your I-129F package instead of NOA1, also. You should receive the hardcopy by mail to the US address, it's been 10 days for you, it should come soon if the package was sent to the right place (Texas lockbox). We received the NOA1 on February 22 but the USCIS site says they received and mailed the NOA1 on 10th February. I listed the 22nd as the date for NOA1 but should I go with the 10th instead? It's not really that important I guess, just curious what others are doing. It was then touched on February 15 so then makes more sense to me to have NOA1 as February 10 and then TOUCHED February 15. Not really a life or death question again, just curious, the NOA1 date I go with in no way guarantees when I will receive NOA2.

On the timeline editing page, you have something helping you to know your NOA1 date ("finding your NOA date"). Look at your NOA1 hardcopy. Your NOA1 date is the "receipt date" on it. Should be Feb 10th.

It is not the date you received it at home.
