Hi all-need some advice. Bkk embassy has NBC file per email below. They say they are waiting on physical but later in email say it can be submitted at interview. So confused, does the physical have to be sent to embassy before or with all the packet 3 info? Here is the email, which seems

The Immigrant Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok has received the electronic file of the above captioned case but are waiting for the physical which will be sent to the IV Unit by mail. After both files are received, we will mail the Packet 3 instructional letter to notify the applicant by mail.

The Packet 3 checklist and forms for K applicants can be downloaded ahead of time from the link below:

K visa applicants:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/k_instructions_package_may09.pdf

In order to schedule an interview appointment, the IV Unit has to receive these following documents from the applicant through the mail.

DS-230 Part I

Signed checklist

2 frontal photographs

a photocopy of the applicant’s passport photo page and photocopies of all required application documents listed in the Packet 3 checklist.

This is to make sure that the applicant will have all application documents on the interview day. Please do not mail any original official documents, such as the original birth certificate, original passport, original fee receipt to the IV Unit since the documents can get lost in the mail. For medical examination result, the applicant can submit the documents in person on the interview day. Normally, after the IV Unit received the complete returned Packet 3 documents from the applicant, the interview appointment can be scheduled for the applicant in 8-10 weeks later. By that time, we will notify the applicant by mail.

This is our mailing address.

So, anyone can make sense if I have to send physical to embassy or bring to interview? the packet 3 instructions call for the original police report, not a copy per the email.

Thanks

Ken

You misunderstood what they were implying with the word physical. They have received the BNK case # from NVC but they are waiting for the physical FILE(all the paperwork) to get there before they send out the packet 3

Also you dont have to wait for the letter, you can download the instruction packets now.

I would call the DOS in a week or so to find out if the embassy has received your paperwork. After they have received your paperwork you can send packet 3 back to them if you have everything ready to send. The medical you will bring with to the embassy when you go to interview. I would do what packet 3 says to do, whatever you do just make sure you make a few copies for yourself just in case anything gets lost and bring the copy you made with you to the interview.
