About a week if I can remember rightly. If you have signed up for e-updates you shall get an email with the WAC number. You should receive the official notice in the post shortly after that. The real wait is between the NOA1 and NOA2 which can be 5 months if the petitioner is a USC.

NOA 1 received and routed to CSC - 9/22/2011

Petition Touched - 9/27/2011

Expedite Request sent - 02/24/2012

NOA 2 - 03/21/2012 (without need for expedite)

NVC Receive - 04/09/2012

175 long days!!! Between my NOA1 and NOA2.

Patience truly is a virtue during this process. In the mean time while you wait be sure to prepare ALL the NVC paperwork and become familiar with the process. This will help you fly through the second phase of the journey!

Does the process go faster at all depending on what country the beneficiary is from?

It only took a week to get the noa1. Was hoping the noa2 wouldn't be months an months and months in the future :( lol

We thought that too...I dont know if it does or not. Some people from UK were approved within four months...this doesnt seem to be the case

Current record holder of fastest through the NVC :D

Medical exam in Stockholm April 13th
Interview on May 16th !!!
POE Anchorage July 12th!! 2012

July 2015 n-400 in the mail

September 2015, interview

I don't think there is any rhyme or reason behind quick versus slow approvals. Mine may have taken longer because my husband and I had previously filed and been approved for a K-1 that was activated but we didn't get married so I returned to Canada... What was I thinking! :wacko:

Just start reviewing the following guide for NVC and learn the process and prepare. There is a lot that you can do prior to your NOA2 approval to speed up NVC.

June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!

September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
