Birth Certificate - original & translated or just translated?

Hi VJ members,

I am far from getting a NOA2 yet, but I'd like to plan those few things I can ahead of time.

I have been resident in the UK for 5 years, but I am Italian. I enquired the Italian Consulate here in Edinburgh, Scotland and they said they would be issuing my Birth Certificate in a matter of a few days, they said it will be already in English.

My question is: do I still need a copy of my Birth Certificate to be in Italian and the English translation/version too or will the English version be enough? Is a copy (of each, if both are needed) enough?

They only need the English one, so if your birth cert arrives and its in English no need for you to do anything extra.

I guess I can then make copies of it, bring the original with me at interview in case they want to see it, but leave them just a copy.

I think I am going to have it issued soon, altho it only takes a few days. I feel the need to start piling up something for the next step, even tho .. still long to go!

for the interview they ask for original and a copy of your birth certificate and police certificate but they give you the original back once they have compared the two.

other things to do to be ready for the next step are obtaining police certificates and getting up to date on the required vaccinations. you can also read through the forms you will be required to send to the embassy once you receive packet 3 as you may need to research a few things like previous addresses and such.

I think I may be getting paranoid.. I was re-reading the email I received from the Italian consulate on my request if they could issue my birth certificate and they mention "certificato consolare di nascita", which translated in English means "CONSULAR Birth Certificate" meant to be used for local uses.

Would it be OK to use it for K1? I know it may be a stupid question but I'd rather ask & be sure then sorry! Thanks!
