And thought I'd post my experience...

Interview was today at 11am at the London embassy, got there at 10.40, and basically queued outside for well over an hour! (in this weather I would recommend that people wrap up warm!! I was freezing after about 40mins of just standing there!)

Once the guard lets you through, you have to go through security (basically just walking through a machine, and getting your bags x-rayed). I then walked round to the back of the embassy, following the visa signs...once there I had to get a number from a machine, and sat down to wait for my number to be called. I'd met several people from the queue outside which was nice as we all sat together and chatted...my number was last to be called though (as I was the only immigrant visa out of us, I can't imagine going through all that to visit the states for a week like they all were)...once called to a window the woman asked me for my fee slip, 2 photos and police certificate then for my finanical support form and 2 required letters (from bank and employer). She was very friendly, talked to me about where I went to university and what degree I got, handed me a form for the courier service, handed me my x-ray and told me to wait until my number was called again...

I thought I was in for a long wait so I got a cup of tea, and sat down, and my number was called straight away (there were loads of people waiting too, including the people I'd met earlier, so I don't know how that happened!) so I walked to the interview window they had called me for...the woman there took my fingerprints, got me to sign a form and swear that I was telling the truth etc...she then asked me the following questions:

- how did you meet your fiance

- when did you meet

- have you met his family

- has he met your family

then she said that was it, and to go to the courier counter to pay and hand in the form...and that was it, i was out by 1pm...and my visa should be arriving within the next 48hrs!!

I was pleased at how painless it all was, everyone was really friendly and I didn't have to show any supporting documents or anything (however I'm glad I took it all as you never know what they could want to see)....good luck to you all!!
