What forms should I start preparing?

Timeline

well once you get an NOA2, inshallah soon, your husband should do a criminal sheet record, take I think 2 passport sized photos, send his birth certificate and your marriage certificate, if you havent gotten all those ready. I think you can also do the ds-230 form and you can send it to him to sign and then he can send the ds-230 paperwork back with anything else that you need.

There is also another form he will need to sign but you wont receieve that one until you get an NOA2 and a case number from NVC.

If I am wrong about something hopefully someone can correct me or add to this!

03-02-2012 - Paid AOS Fee

03-30-2012 - Emailed DS-230 & Police Clearance

04-10-2012 - Received Checklist

06-??-2013 - Emailed AOS

07-25-2013 - Case Complete

10-29-2013 - Packet 4 Received

12-31-2013 - Interview ----Administrative Processing

01-20-2014 - Embassy called to go in on Wednesday the 22nd

01-22-2014 - picked up visa, yyaaayyyy

I just want to know what I can start working on so that when I get my NOA2 I can hurry through NVC.

Prepare these and you'll be all set.

Affidavit of Support package:

a. Bar-coded cover sheet - after you paid the AOS fee

b. Completed and signed form I-864 by the petitioner - easy

c. IRS tax transcripts for the last three years - go to IRS website and request it, comes into mail 1-2 weeks later

d. Petitioner's employment letter (optional) - easy

e. Petitioner's pay stubs for the current year - easy

Visa Application package:

a. Bar-coded cover sheet - after you paid your IV fee

b. 2 Passport-sized photographs of the beneficiary - easy

c. Completed and signed form DS-230 Part 1 by the beneficiary - easy

d. Completed and 'unsigned' form DS-230 Part 2 by the beneficiary - easy, just don't sign it

e. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's passport - make a photocopy, easy

f. Original/Certified birth certificate of the beneficiary - make sure it's certified copy or original

g. Original/Certified marriage certificate of the beneficiary and the petitioner - make sure it's certified copy or original

h. Original police certificate(s) of the beneficiary - make sure it's certified copy or original

i. Original/Certified divorce decree of the beneficiary's prior marriage(s), if applicable

j. Original military certificate of the beneficiary, if applicable

k. 1 set Photocopy of all the above civil documents

file i-130, petition for alien relative
get immigrant visa
get ssn card and green card
get employment authorization - not required
file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)
become a US citizen
