NVC says certified is ok but how many have send Originals vs Certified

1) Why send Certified? afraid that if Originals were sent, it could get lost

2) Originals would not be given back? not even on interview?

What are your thoughts.

Most people do not have original documents for anything. Originals are kept by the issuing government body. Certified copies are what most people have for birth/marriage certificates.

I sent a certified copy of the marriage certificate and photo copy of everything else. The certified copy was not returned to me at the interview.

not sure how it works in India but in Canada you don't get the original documents of your marriage certificate or birth certificate... you get a certified copy of them

sent regular photocopies of everything.. except birth certificate. The instructions didn't require certified copies except for birth certificate. As long as you have the originals, I would keep them and show them at the interview. I don't think the NVC cares if they are looking at a simple copy or certified copy of things they can easily check. Now if most of your documents are from another country, certified would be the way to go.
