i'm curious at this point how long it takes. my husband and i got stopped bc he was on deployment and forgot to include his 2010 tax return luckily he was only gone for 2 and half months so we sent that off the beginning of January and were still waiting on a case complete he's going to be leaving again most likely at the end of the month so i'm not to worried about timing i just want to be there when he gets back so he can spend some time with our son by the time he gets back he will have missed an entire year of his life all bc we don't have the money for him to fly here and now that we have the money he can't get the time off he has to prepare for the deployment on the boat *sigh*

Here's how long it took me last month using electronic processing: sent AOS package 1/17, sent IV package 1/23, case complete 1/25, interview assigned 1/31 for 3/13

If you sent all your docs at the beginning of January and haven't heard back, you should give the NVC a call.

You're gonna have to list some dates if you want help. It'll be a lot easier to help.

Date you sent AOS package:

Date you completed DS-260:

Date you sent IV package:

Date you sent checklist (for 2010 tax return): January XX, 2012

And have you been calling NVC every single day asking for an update on your case? Were both email addresses given when your case number was assigned?

Answer ALL the above questions, please, so I can answer you better.

If you use Google Voice, you can call NVC for free. That's what I did when I was living in Canada and waiting. My husband was busy with work full-time so I was the one that took charge and called NVC (and later DOS) every day.

You REALLY need to call NVC as soon as you can. When you do, ask them specifically: "Have my packages been reviewed?" They should have been reviewed already, you should have had a case complete, and you should have already gotten an interview date scheduled. Lately, it's only been taking a week or two for NVC to review packages.

You mention emailing the AOS. Did you do the same thing for the IV package, send it by email? Did you opt in to EP before emailing those documents?

And just to confirm, you paid both bills right, and they're showing as PAID in the payment portal?

He did send in the tax return AS WELL as his W2s (and other schedules, if applicable), correct? NVC will not accept tax returns if the W2s aren't with them. That's why NVC prefers tax transcripts as no W2s are needed.

And you didn't answer, but did you optin for EP? And received an approval before sending emails in?

You need to figure out what he sent in. If he didn't send in everything, then, of course, NVC has been waiting this entire time for you to submit the remaining documents.
